YM Thrust looks ready to go.

 

here's takara looking red. must be the light in the pics making all the thrusts look red. i think in person kbb and ym will look fine. hopefully.

Hey Thrust, you've got a little something on your nose.

 

You are so right about the burgundy my friend. It just pops and is the correct color. Once I paint the wings black I will have my perfect Thrust.

So lets see the YM G1 parts for Ramjet and Dirge

 

Is that Toyworld Dirge pictured? If so, wow is he big! I was all in for those three, as I wanted my coneheads bigger, but he TOWERS unbelievably over the MP-11 mould from YM.

 

Yay! My higher quality and less expensive version of Thrust is getting ready to ship from TF-Direct!

 

I really do think the bb7 versions of thrust look fantastic against the official. Plus for almost half the cost, I'm willing to make do...

Honestly, seeing the YM/BB7 version next to the official Thrust, takes away any hesitation or doubt I had.

I'm now sure I made the right choice in going for the official one.

The price hurts and the design has it's flaws that they easily could have and should have fixed, but I think in general it looks better. I vastly prefer the look of the lower legs and knees on the official, while to me the BB7/YM version looks like some half hearted attempt to recreate the knees and the longer and smaller shin thrusters. I also prefer the different pelvis area of the offiical and the turned around cockpit.

The colour is perhaps the only thing that is nicer on the ym/bb7, but in comparison it doesn't look that much better to me.

 

Amazing! I watched the official Thrust video reviews and it turned me back to BB7. Not knocking your choice, it's just interesting how we look at the painting on the wall differently. Could it also be that the official's name is Takara?

 

Chinese review of the Robot Hero's OS MP-11 versions  

 

So I take it you like your coneheads looking like they're dropping big turds....cool.  

 

I never liked the official coneheads from the start- oversized knees and head primarily, but I don't like the changed cockpit either. BB7 has given me what I wanted overall so I'm pleased.  

 

it boggles my mind someone would spend $200 on takara thrust. it's by far the ugliest figure in the mp line.

 

Should I get this one or wait to see if they are going to do a ko of the mp-11

 

Man, I'm definitely getting that green MP-3 coloured version of the OS MP-11 mould. And I really, REALLY hope it comes out to 1:48 scale. (Done some calculations based on reported sizes and it should indeed be around the 1:48 scale, but not actually 1:48.)

Yeah, the reviews for MP Thrust weren't good. And he absolutely has problems. There's definitely room for improvements and a better version.

But to me, the BB7/YM isn't it. It's just too much a MP-11 figure with some parts slapped on while the MP looks more like a whole. Especially the legs look weird with those added on knee parts that look off and the shin thruster done in red with the silly black line to mimmick the thinner shin thruster of the official. It looks really weird. Plus I appreciate the different pelvis and cockpit. It makes the MP Coneheads look like the regular seekers and still very much different. I like that variety in look.

That is the biggest flaw of the official MP. And frankly, it is so incredibly lazy of them. Just looking at it I can think of several ways this could've been prevented and I would've been okay with any of them. This, simply having it hang behind their ass like a giant turd...it is lazy and dumb.

But as I said, compared with the YM/BB7 version, I think the MP looks the best. It looks more like a whole, while the BB7 one looks like an MP-11 figure with parts slapped on, like it's cosplaying. I appreciate them adding those G1 parts and complement them on it, but it doesn't integrate very well. And without them, they're just MP-11 figures with different wings and a different head.

May I ask why you don't like the changed cockpit? It can't be because you prefer cartoon accuracy (then you would like the knees and head).

I like the turn around cockpit because it makes the Coneheads clearly the same base mould, but different. And it also makes it look -- bit difficult to explain -- that the chest is more whole. With the regular cockpit you have the part of the fusilage between the boobs (boob-part of the fusilage-canopy-fusilage-boob) while with the reversed cockpit it looks more like a whole (the boob and the canopy are integrated better)

Now if we can only get high quality OS and regular sized KOs of Starscream in the MP11 deco without all the scorch marks and heavy panel lines.
