    Okay then, let's hear it.

What's your problem with the Original Trilogy?

I still wonder. People were so Angry when they announced Disney buying Lucasfilms and having plans for more Star Wars movies. What do those people have to say now?

I suppose you can cruise down memory lane and find the people that boo-hoo'd the acquisition, and ask some of them.

I was happy with it then, and I'm happy with it now.

I was never really worried about it.

Disney already owned Marvel, Miramax, etc. and never really "Disney-fied" them so it's w/e. With all the wizards and princesses and pirates and shit in Star Wars it's a natural fit anyway.

I was just surprised they were able to get it before George Lucas dies. Never in a million years did I imagine him letting go of it any other way.

I was happy when Disney killed off the EU.

Going to the first pages Force Awakens thread, that's part of memory lane. I guess I should be asking those people. I mean, Disney has come a long way and they've hardly disappoint.

All the people I talked to that were horrified at the notion didn't seem to know that Disney owned Marvel too. If anything, the Marvel movies have become darker and more violent since Disney bought them. Even though there was a bit of backlash, the reception to TFA was generally positive as well.

Yularen should have a cameo too.

Yeah, that works too. Either way, it's fun to look back and see who decried the whole thing, as well as all the early speculation.

I was too. Makes it easier to get acquainted with the new canon, a clean slate. And then the best of the old EU is brought in, like Malachor, Thrawn, etc.

    Lol my response.

Disney buying Star Wars was, after the prequels and seeing a lot of their live action output, troubling to say the least. There was also an apprehension to make Star Wars the machine that the MCU was becoming/is now, and I still think that after Episode IX the hype for Star Wars is going to die down. A new trilogy is lightening in a bottle right now, but I think Disney is making a mistake with these stand alone films to fill in the gaps. Young Han Solo I expect to be the first major misstep, but then again I've said that about a half dozen MCU films and have never been right so what do I know.

I still think Disney is gonna zap what makes Star Wars special in a short time frame, as it's always been successful partly due to gaps in between films, but who knows.

Booked my tickets. I'm dying of hype, but at least KOTET arrived just in time to get me through the next two weeks.

I think the only thing that's got me obsessed with this movie is Darth Vader. If he wasn't in this movie, I probably won't see it or I'd get really bored. So now next shopping trip I hope to find a Darth Vader action figure and when I get a collector's cup at the movie, I hope to get a Darth Vader topper.

I just had an idea, maybe we could see a Lasat with Saw? Just a tiny easter egg to Rebels, so we know that it's the Lasat that traumatized Kallus. That episode was the first foreshadowing to Saw's inclusion here, after all. Be a bit of a book end.
