A thought: if the Green Goblin appears, he won't need to be a split-personality in armor (Willem Dafoe) or a diseased lab experiment (Dane DeHaan). Thanks to motion-capture technology, it should be possible to replicate the Goblin's features in live-action. We could get classic or ultimate Marvel Gobby easily. Ultimate Goblin is the most likely choice, but I'd love to see classic Goblin.
Man I really don't want hulk goblin. I don't mind him transforming, but I hope they differentiate him to the Hulk in terms of looks. There's something more psychotic to me about a powerful guy (in terms of social position) putting on a mask and being bad- like it's always been a good parallel to the good guy (spider-man) who doesn't have everything materialisticly but was just raised right, even after tough hardships.
I wouldn't mind see Goblin being a hybrid of his classic and Ultimate versions where he transforms like the Ultimate version but the design and gear are more in line with the classic version. That way you'd stil retain the iconic classic Goblin but with a more updated origin and power.
Yeah, it's the obvious way to go...especially for a Marvel Studios version of The Green Goblin. It's just too tricky to do justice to his original appearance in a quasi-realistic context as a mask, so making him an offshoot of the militarization of Banner's DNA is an easy solution that smoothes over all the nonsense of the previous attempts. If ANYONE is finally gonna do The Green Goblin RIGHT then it's Marvel Studios. Can't WAIT to see it when they inevitably get there!
Agreed. I thought that. given the circumstances, the Green Goblin of the first movie was a reasonable adaptation of the character. But they'll probably tie it all in to aliens. Make it some kinda rogue Osborn experiment with Chitauri tech. Which... actually, would be a good use of the Venom symbiote. Like the alien virus from the first season of SHIELD.
Oh for crying out loud, enough with Cranston already. He should play this vilian, he should play that villian. He's not even a good actor.
Definitely like the idea of Green Goblin maybe being a mix of Ultimate and Classic styles. Like maybe Norman Osborn gets the opportunity to experiment on Hulk cells, and something goes wrong, but instead of him becoming all-Hulk like as in the Ultimate universe, he instead turns into his classic comic look that could be reminiscent to this villain scene... He then dons the purple getup and embraces his new look as...the Green Goblin!
