Long time away yet (six months i guess) as im focussed on buying certain toys while they are around, at normal prices. I have s steep learning curve to go through with paint tutorials for TF toys, but saved a lot of ref material, and will try some small dummy projects to try out the basic techniques so I dont fuck up the more expensive ones.
Plus it takes time/$ to aquire the toys for the projects (some end up being doubles, as I want one for my collection, and one to repaint).
I need more work so I can afford to buy the paints I want too, without making too many toy sacrifices, but I'll just a buy a little bit/piece at a time until I have enough to get started.

The two projects that most excite me, that I intend to complete next year are:

*G1 Prime truck with super mode (aka magnus) trailer in the original Diaclone colors (red/black/blue bot with blue cab) a.k.a Diaclone Powered Convoy.

*CW Combiner made of Hot Spot, two rooks as shoulders, two first aid as legs, and a different new head (undecided on head, but have some ideas) repainted into a Diaclone inspired combiner. Both will be based on this:

but I will also be using for ref these guys (below images), plus I may make some minor changes (for the combiner) depending on what suits at the time in the overall aesthetics of the thing.

A couple of my new pick-ups. MIB Motorvators - Japanese release. I didn't realise these guys got released in the English packaging in Japan. I always thought Japan just had the Road Cesar releases. These guys were disgustingly dirty though. Both box and bots had a lot of grime and caked dust all over. Took me about 3 hours to clean them up, but they came up amazing! :D  The stains won't come off the Japanese language stickers on the back though :(

Wow, very nice and the stickers were still unapplied. Do they come with foam or bubble insert?

Thanks :)  I've always found the Motorvators to be a little hard to come by, so to find them boxed and with unapplied stickers was amazing.

No bubble or foam for these guys. They sit on a cardboard "platform" and are tied with twist ties or something I think (though the ties or whatever weren't included in my set.) The inserts in my first photo are the original ones :)

Wow, amazing! Didn't know these were released in Japan either! Probably they were some kind of mailaway, like the Thunder Arrow/Skystalker or Repugnus.

Now you need the Italian packages. They are likely to be the hardest to come by

Got a box for him, so minty except someone decided that it was a good idea to cut the techs. I'll get another one day.

    Nice one, :)

I noticed he has a red face/head, is that common?

BTW, I feel your pain, but that was what was suggested in those days, what can we do. :p

I was reading yesterday and there seems to be a huge art in trying to differentiate different release and regions of G1 transformers. :)

    Nice! lol :p

Thanks! Luckily, I'm happy with just my gold box set ;)

Thanks a lot :)  Very happy with them!

I got super lucky I think. They went pretty cheap too which I still don't know how I managed! I guess staying up until midnight, and being completely wrecked on Monday was worth it.

That is a very nice boxed Canadian Slag! Such a shame the techs are cut :(

My favourite G1 Dinobot has always been Snarl. I only just got my first one a few months ago. Wanted him ever since I was a kid because I liked how different his transformation was.

Swoop is my favourite, followed by Grimlock and Slag.

Talking about Slag, I never liked the G1 version, so I went for the Diaclone blu chest, the first version released in my country, btw. I prefer its colour scheme a lot, not to talk about the chrome horns. Here's mine:

The best version of Slag is imo the Italian exclusive Diaclone red face. It has the red face and white legs just like the Canadian G1, but with the chrome horns of the Diaclone blue chest. An explosive mix making this unique version the perfect counterpart to the cartoon model. Never seen one in my life, unfortunately! It's horribly rare!

Speaking of the diaclone Slag, do you know where they stamp the robot?

Not all versions of Diaclone Slag have a stamping. It should - I think - be under the chest plate but only if it has a stamp. Later versions did have the stamping. Going off my rusty memory here.

    All the best

    What's the different between a stamp and a stamping? I'm a bit confused as a non-mother language o_O

My Slag has "Takara Japan" stamped under the chest plate.

Snarl. I only had Grimlock as a kid, but liked - and like - stegosaurs.
