I didn't think kids nowadays played on swings. I mean, are we sure they know how to operate a contraption like that, you know, swings not having touch screens and all? And going outside too. ;)

In other news from the Museum Curators they are looking forward to inducting Sand, paper towel-rolls and pee-pee from next year's candidates.

And they think that InterWeb doohickey might just catch on with kids too.

Toy Cars and Planes that turn into Robots? Pfft.....that's science fiction sorcery.

It was a joke. Chill down. Watch your pressure.

Though Wizards of The Coast was going really hard with promoting their 5th ed in any social media they could find... But them probably not being high on care or spending on some fringe polls.

I'd argue if the entire D&D line qualifies as a "toy" at all, given how main producs are books, but looking through the list of previous HoF winners...

...it looks like whoever is running the Fall of Fame is clinging for any attention and drawing whatever they can find to their list just so they can stay relevant.

Except, D&D isn't a boardgame, it's been around quite a bit longer, and while it has had a cartoon, it's spawned a TON of books.

I'm not exactly a fan of them, but that's QUITE a stretch calling Red Hot Chilly Peppers a "boy band." It's actually ridiculous.

no? lol i'm confused on how they're a boy band. unless being a band made up of dudes is all that defines being a boy band.

It was inducted a few years ago, also it's not a stick it's my magic wand.
They play with those in the same manner as they do the ball.
You mean my magic cape? It give me super speed and flying powers. :p

Next year we're clearly going to have to get a campaign going! We're clearly going to have to get the word out and heckle all our family and friends into influencing the vote.. somehow.. If we can..

I think we should march on the museum.

Then burn it down. That will prove a point........

If TFW would have included a link to the voting, Transformers might have had a chance. I remember the story, but had no idea the voting was open to the public until after the voting was over.

There was the thread about this before the hall of fame thing was decided, and everybody already knew that TF was no way in hell going to get in. If it had been around since the 50's maybe...
so many other toy lines before and since have outsold it, and been more popular it's not funny.
I think the Ninja Turtles blimp has a better chance of getting in than TF!

The numbers are way too small, they appeal to a limited niche audience.

You could start a poll on a mainstream site to get a hamster voted in as president of all toys now and forever and it could get more votes than TF.

Transformers lost because not very many voted for it. And don't blame anyone for not posting a link. There are plenty of great search engines that are available to assist you.

    Seriously, the apathy...

It's a game played solely for fun, whether you're using the books and just your imagination or just got the pre-made pieces to play out of the cardboard box. That sounds like a toy to me.

"Transformers! You've failed. Not only did you fail to reboot the movies when you had the chance, you failed to make it into the toys hall of fame! We put John Warden in charge of Generations for nothing... you idiot!" *tosses RID disk mini-con at it*

I didn't know Transformers was running for the HOF, nor that I could vote, nor that the "Toy Hall of Fame" was even a thing.
