This was a scary one because it would have been easy to ruin a lot of money's worth in figures here, but I finally went ahead and upgraded my already customized Medicom Cammy to a seamless body to get rid of all those ugly joints that were bugging me. Took a lot of modification work but I got the Medicom Cammy head, hands, and full outfit including the custom straps and such I had already added to her onto a Phicen S16 body. UPDATE: Here's 2 pics of her with fixes to make the Medicom parts match the Phicen body better. Repainted fingers, ears, and very light lower face shading to blend better. And here are the first pics where things didn't quite match well enough for me. To do this I had to use pliers to get the joints out of all of the Medicom wrists and drill the appropriate sized holes for them to attach firmly onto the Phicen wrist ball joints, then I drilled out the head ball cup and filled it with apoxie-sculpt before attaching the Cammy head to the Phicen neck joint and letting it cure fully, creating a new socket to fit that size ball joint. I had to cut the suit at the crotch then liquid-stitch it back together to get it onto the Phicen body. The boots were perhaps the toughest part as I had to pry out the ankle ball joints then drill the entire boot sleeves hollow to fit over her lower leg enough that the foot ball joints were exposed at the bottom. Then I cut the front off the Phicen feet off and drilled out large holes in the shoe tops to set the remaining parts (mostly just the ball joint sockets and some heel) of the phicen feet into. This way she retains exactly the same ankle ball joint movement as the Phicen originally had, hidden in the Medicom boots. Here are a few pics of the new Phicen body upgrade compared to the original Medicom body in the same poses. I liked the more athletic build of the Medicom body but those ugly joints were just ruining it for me. I don't particularly love the look of muscled up women and Cammy wasn't such a beast until SF4 anyway, so I figured this would be worth the trade off.
Cute and deadly, yet somehow sexy without any weirdness...It's a nice work with that body mold you've done, mate! Now I want to buy that mold and create something custom....
Man, I've been debating getting a Phicen figure for a while, but this custom pretty much seals the deal. Awesome work, as always!
Nice work! Gotta be honest, if I were into 1/6 figures, I'd steer clear of seamless bodies- I'd be too worried about the skin cracking with age. Still, a fantastic custom!
my only issue is the boobs are to big cuz the toon cammy has them a bit higher/pushed and smaller but hey who cares right LOOKS WICKED!!!
I don't know what the heck you're looking at because the breasts on this Phicen are actually smaller than Cammy's in the game if anything. I used the figure because it has the smallest bust size of any Phicen figure yet and I thought it was pretty darn close to right.
this creation is super awesome! imo it creeps me out not seeing the joints.....makes me think it'll come to life and beat up your other figures while you sleep....
oh wait i forgot u where going for the SF 3D franchise... i was comparing the previous version u made with this one... personally like those proportions better, thats all
btw do you know if they are 100% waterproof... and or have a bikini that also can get wet?? i have made 1:5 scale RC Jetski (and also have 2 custom Barbi race motorcycles) so i want her to ride it but now that i think of it... the weight might become a balancing issue
Great work! Looks pretty good and a big improvement over the obvious joints, even with the loss of muscle tone. My only other issue is the difference of skin tones since the Medicom figure has a slightly more yellow-ish hue with their plastic (it's a similar issue I've encountered when head-swapping figures in other lines like G.I. Joe). Still, awesome job!
I actually minimized that quite a bit after taking most of these pics by repainting the fingers on all 10 hands, her ears, and adding some shading on the edges of her face in the Phicen body skin tone. The attached pic (thumbnail preview image) with Cammy and Chun Li shows it, though all the rest of the pics were taken before. Its still not perfect but in person it is almost unnoticeable now. I'll attach another pic here to show ya what I mean. I think it helped a lot but I don't want to go retake all of the pics again.
i know what u mean by 'in person it almost unnoticeable' but for me the face is still yellow and legs pink sorry to say that but who cares as long as you are happy and the camera is to blame then there's no problem right awesome NONETHELESS! EDIT: O WAIT u didnt fix the face but the ears and fingers now, right? i misread i guess... yes those look perfect now... after you do the face the same way... it would look STELLAR!
Hah, well as usual I kind of disagree with you. I think I got the match about as close as any of my other 1/6 female figures. The hands are actually pinker than the body now but whatever... With these it is usually hard to get a real close match. Even Phicens that come with heads don't usually match quite perfectly, but real close is fine IMO. Due to make-up and just natural complexions people's faces really are often just a bit of a different shade from their arms and legs anyway. I felt it was too noticeable before I worked to improve it. Now I think it's as good as I could have hoped for. If I tried to repaint her entire face I'd risk messing up the line edges of her printed on eyes and I'd kill that nice fade from her hair line to her skin. Took another pic and also adding a shot of my other 1/6 gals. I think they are all as stellar as they need to be. But opinions and such, right? My others. The blond is the closest to a perfect skin tone match, but still not perfect.
wow thnx 4 the new picture, like i said i totally believe now that in person its already stellar so dont worry... but now even the picture is extremely close, i could live with that for sure DAMN those others are cool... especially the blond!!! think my GF would not approve, but since i have also got some 1:5 2stroke RC bigscale cars and motorcycles... I might send my modified barby on a permanent holiday AND GET MY SOME OF THESE PRECIOUS CHICKA'S btw: the 'i kinda don't agree as usual' it's not that bad right? but i guess u dont agree hahah no worries!
Oh no offense meant. I just often have a different opinion from you. Hah, my wife doesn't mind me having girly figs like this at all, but then she knows she has me for good, knows I'm not going to cheat on her with action figures, has no major insecurities, and is far from a feminist at all.
