UGH you don't even know man! I ALMOST want to get two and paint one that nice bandai silver.

 

We're all very excited about this but Inferno got a little TOO excited.

 

Megatron does like that mega ooze.

 

I may have to get a third one..............

 

The new pictures really have me much more excited. It's a bit weird that for some reason to me. He looks a bit more cleaner. I understand that it's not perfect, but this is the best Sunbow G1 Megatron ever! I'm sure if their was no budget. It would be better design and atheistic wise. The price does not bother me.

The accessories are nice. I like the gun mode and that he comes with a stand. The top chest around his neck is a bit messy. But it's not to bad. When he is on my shelf. It really can't be seen. I can live with it. The face/head sculpt is very nice and accurate to the TV show I watched religiously as a kid. And that's the most important thing to me. I kinda hope at some point they will release a Mp10 with white thighs and more toon accurate color scheme. Or release this Megatron in a silver color instead of the toon grey. But Megatron is my favorite character from the g1 show. And Mp36 knocks off Apollyon which imo was the best representation of G1 Megatron to date. Mp36 is badass!

 

I'm not trying to pick on you Shiro, just using your comment as an example for convenience.

Comparing to MP-10, apples to apples, Megatron is a MUCH more complex figure with a much larger parts count. That factors in.
I think the silencer and stock have an amount of plastic comparable to the trailer, and is equally if not more complex than MP-10's main accessory.
MP-36 come with a LOT more accessories than MP-10, and then finally also includes electronics for light AND sound, neither of which MP-10 even had a hint of including.
When you put all those factors together, MP-36 has to demand a higher price.

It's kinda funny that it seems to be priced so much higher than Despotron . . . . But TT made us wait 5 yes. They know plenty will pay. Including me.

Wouldn't be too surprised if there is a lower priced copy eventually.

People can choose whatever they like. But the days of Masterpiece collecting on a good value basis are done.

 

Man why did they go with the toony Decepticon symbol, at this point ive come to terms with the proportions but that logo is gonna be out of place with the rest of the crew.  

 

Did something change with the mold? Something about it looks off. I like the damaged chestpiece. Also, they seem to be going overkill on the price. Ill wait for a price drop and even if there isnt one, I wont have lost anything by not having this.

 

Some of these images go some way towards convincing me to get the official one to replace my Despotron, and some do the opposite lol (he looks less 'leggy' front on but those forearms look awful in the flying shot). I'm still not completely convinced and the prices on the domestic sites are INSANE (£160-170!) but if he's cheaper on Anime Export I may well get myself one to compare and contrast with Despotron before I sell one on.

 

The torso looks to be extended a bit more. these are the first pics I see where the yellow part of the abdomen is clearly present
