Yeah, it'll just stay pending in your Paypal until they actually charge. I put a order for Yuuki and it's sitting in my Paypal as pending.
Well, we already got The Vitruvian Man, so The Scream isn't the first 2D artwork to get turned into a 3D figure.
These art things seem like something cool, but I can't quite pull the trigger on any for some reason.
Ha, neat! Yeah, I agree. Speaking as an art lover, I would like to pick these up but there's just so much other stuff out there that demands my wallet's attention more.
The scarf every Kamen Rider alive dreams to have. I'll get more into anime Ninja Slayer tomorrow, but this guy got some few engineering choices I never saw in any figma that I've own so far.
Sometimes the "how did they do that?" factor is enough to pull you in. I got the Figuarts Ashuraman from their Kinnikuman line just because it has six functional arms. I just HAD to know how they pulled it off. That Ninja Slayer Figma is really eye-catching. I find myself taking note every time I see it pop up; I'm probably gonna end up buying the durn thing, lol. And you're just making things worse Shinobi!
It's just a real shame they didn't paint on his green highlights, otherwise he would have been pre-ordered by me.
The show's animation style gave everything bright green edge highlights. It's not part of the character design he's talking about, but that it doesn't quite "feel" like the animation character because that highlighting style was a big part of its aesthetic.
Huh. Interesting... Without being able to pick the brains of the designers, I would hazard to guess that the green highlights are one of those things that works on-screen but just doesn't come across properly in 3D. Either that, or they're holding back for a potential alt-deco reissue; YMMV.
Except that it wouldn't have really mattered what way they went with the highlights and black shadows as the designs are intentionally garish.
Oosh. >.< That's... PAINFUL. The garishness aside, with what appears to be a lightsource factor in play I don't see how they could have faithfully replicated that...
I actually prefer it without the green highlights. Anyway... So let's talk about the new Ninja Slayer and the new stuff they did with. First, the shoulder pads. Normally Max Factory the shoulder pads of any character either molded with the arm or a separate piece between the shoulder joints. Here, the shoulder pads are attached to the arms with ball joints so you can move them around, though still hinder the articulation due to their design. Spoiler Hip armor is also different as again, instead of molding these parts with the waist parts or using a figma joint, they used hinge joints so they don't hinder leg articulation and won't tear away without ruining the design aesthetics. Spoiler Knee pads are now a different piece in the knee joint instead of molding it with the leg like how it's usually done. Spoiler Feet armor is also connected via ball joints the same as the shoulder pads instead being part of the feet. Spoiler Widest splits the figure can get with the armor pieces Spoiler The figure also comes with hinged hands. This is my first time seeing it done with a figma. I have plenty in my collection, but I don't recall hinged grabbing hands in a figma before this. Spoiler And speaking of hands, even though this figure is a regular scale and not one of the big guys like Terraformar or Hulk, it still uses regular figma joints instead of wrist joints. He got big hands so obviously... Spoiler Side by side comparison with original Ninja Slayer with similar accessories Spoiler Group shot. I still don't have SatzBatz Knight yet. It's on the way while this post is made. But Anime Ninja Slayer is a rather well done figure even if it didn't have as much accessories as the regular one (no nunchaku, no Naraku effects, no severed head, no speech balloons). I hope to see the other characters sooner than never.
Thanks for all these pics and details! I never seen Ninja Slayer but the pics of these figures is tempting me since I love ninjas! This new figure is extremely tempting just to have a sweet ninja figure and check out all the new tech on it. What's it's really doing is making me want a set of similar Ninja Scroll figures more than ever.
Interestingly enough the build on the Anime Ninja Slayer is reminding me of the engineering you normally see on an SH Figuarts mold.
With the way the series is presented, the figure may have benefited from being either that or a Revoltech figure.
The drop-down Figuarts hips alone would have been a benefit to this figure. Also, looking at the articulated hands, I'm not sure how much that actually adds to the functionality, whereas to me it takes away from the aesthetics.
