Don't know why they would do it on purpose aside from seeing how much they can get from the Takara Mall. I'm sure they are limited on their qty. Possible a miscommunication. Anyone could cancel their pre-order once they see they can get a better deai.

They might be a problematic just like that space shuttle combiner limb.

 

Maybe they have to recoup the costs of that "free shipping"

You're absolutely right, it should. That being said the rest of the article seems to accurately describe the relationship between hasbro and Takara.

It's not really the same, we don't get the designer's name on the box or the actual MP, it's unadvertised information so unless you caught a random designer interview or hang out on TF message boards you would never know who Hasui or any of the other designers are.

 

its still a marketing ploy, not necessarilly as overt as on dc collectibles stuff, but thats what it is. hasbro comes up with the general concept of the figure, commissions art etc, takara then takes the concept and engineers it (their engineer for example would be responsible for taking the alpha trion art which is awesome and turning it into the titans return figure) and then the figures are mass produced in factories leased by takara. ultimately takara is more responsible for the creation of both hasbro and takara transformers figures than hasbro is

 

Granted I don\'t know much about Ruination/Baldigus, which means I can\'t see myself fully appreciating the characters represented, I still feel tempted to pick him up because he just looks...neat. 

 

Ah forget it. I'm preordering. It's in march. $200 isn't too bad when its that long away.

So far it looks like another TTMall exclusive, it has an EX number and places like BBTS are charging the same for him as they did Grand Galvatron and Lynx Master. So I don't think HLJ will be selling it.

 

For anyone who doesn't know, Ruination's combining weapons isn't necessarily taking UW Computron's gimmick. He does it in the show and original figure too.
