So, this new pic looks considerably better than the last one. Prime's face still looks....odd...but everything else looks pretty good. And if TT is and example, then the show will look considerably better than the production art...hopefully fixing Prime's face. Though I'll admit to being a little biased as I actually really liked Teen Titans.

In fact, the one thing that actually really makes me double take has nothing to do with the style. It's the fact that we have a military themed Autobot. Traditionally speaking--and yes, I know there have been exceptions--Autobots are civilian vehicles while Decepticons are military.

    Wow, 34 pages. Good God.

Anyway, I think we should all just wait until we actually see some protos before dooming the entire thing to hell.

Or the japanese for that matter. Canada FTW!

Out of all the toon designs we've seen for all shows, this one is the closest to not being a pure toy driven show, and more adept at characterization, and story.
With armada-cybertron being so animated toy heavy, it'll be nice to see some actual action, and life like movement as opposed to the clunkiness and half assed fights we have been getting. And with this much potential for story, who knows.

But seriously, style means nothing, Teen titans has the same style and many of the episodes of it were adult oriented. Hell most people don't realize episode 3x06 Spellbound of Teen titans is a symbolic rape episode for Raven. Style means nothing to writing or execution, heck even animation quality. One picture does not a crappy show make. Not to mention the fact, the LICENSE is aimed at kids, but this show does look to be having some interesting undertones. We had bad humans in G1, having 'humans' in it doesn't guarantee it's less of a series, if anything it's opening the doors to more story angles. Which considering these are giant robots on earth, does make sense.

We had franklin in the Novels awhile back, not to mention cobra, serpentor, and more in the comics, let alone Dr. archevellian and more. This is seriously starting ot sound like the movie whining reduxed all over again.

    All that said and done,
    I still hate prime's design.

Loyal transfans are a minor part of the market. We are getting more nods in this though than people realize, and the writing IS aiming for wider audience appeal, so expect humor for kids, with nuances for adults that will go over kids heads.

And if it doesn't go over a kids head, you can turn around and ask your kid how they hell they knew that. xD

I for one do like the potential that humans can bring as bad guys, especially when you get into human nature and how we like to dabble in technology that's not always our own.
I've been a loyal transfan for 24 years as well. And I absolutley loved the Serpentor use in the new GI Joe transformers, and not to mention the use of Franklin in the novels. What has been annoying about humans in transformers for the past 24 years isn't the bad guys, it's the kids, the whiny annoying brats without the maturity to really grasp the gravity of the war in front of their eyes.

After 3 whiny brats and two bullies, then that whiny super saiyin energon wannabe punk, and that redux of the armada kids, only slightly less lame. I'm ready for some twisted villians who aren't interested in using bumblebee to impress a chick, or do doughnuts in the parking lot, or teaching bots rules of the road when that character has no license either. And don't even get me started on the bad puns they pulled about cosplay, and worse.

Hmm, wow, I think I'm looking forward to this show now that I've looked back at what we did have.

I think I'm starting to like this style. I liked Teen Titans, so that's probably why I'm open to this. This style would not be my first choice, but something light and fun might be a refreshing change. The animation in Cybertron, while pretty, wasn't a lot of fun. I thought Cybertron was the best of the Armada Trilogy, but the animation didn't allow the bots to have much character. They just stood there still most of the time. The animation style in "Transformers:Animated" should at least be able to give the bots some character. I'm still a little concerned about human villians being featured more than Decepticons, though. I guess it's all gonna come down to the storytelling. Transformers:Animated could end up being a lot of fun or it could be really dumb. I'm actually a little anxious to see how it's gonna turn out.

That's the problem. There are quite a few people here (myself included) now looking forward to this, but we tend to get a little lost in the throng.

Let's look at all the 'lame' human villains in Transformers history . . .

Dr. Archeville (G1 Cartoon) - evil scientist that allied with Starscream and the Decepticons, and controlled many humans with his hypnochips. Also created a powerful source of energy, which could have destroyed the Earth had the Autobots and Megatron not cooperated
Circuit Breaker (G1 Comic) - Constantly wiped the floor with the Autobots and a few Decepticons after initially being paralyzed by Shockwave. Eventually got her revenge on Shocky and even got Unicron to notice how much damage she was doing to him.
R.A.T.T. (G1 Comic) - Rapid Anti-Robot Assault Team. You could say they were the templates for Sector Seven. Hunted Autobots (and Decepticons) as they were the perceived robot threat. Even captured a few.
G.I. Joe (Marvel Comic) - Destroyed Bumblebee
Serpentor (Devils Due TF/Joe Crossover) - Destroyed Bumblebee
Cobra (Devils Due TF/Joe Crossover) - Subverted the Autobots and Decepticons to due their bidding
Lazarus (Dreamwave Comic) - Subverted the Autobots and Decepticons to do his bidding.

Given proper writing humans can serve to be more than canon fodder or play the 'damsel in distress' role. They can take down a Transformer and they don't always need to be superpowered to do it.

I imagine, since this show has the director as Ben 10, Megatron = Vigilax and will, much like Vigilax in Ben 10, appear infrequently but will still be the big baddy of the show and have an overarching influence, and that the evil humans will be villans of the week.

Guys, you don't HAVE to warm up to this. If you hate it, it's okay.

And you don't have to hate it either. You can, for instance, get over the initial 'woah' shock and grow to like it.

Looks like an update of Mighty Orbots instead of Transformers.

Funny you should mention that, I just thought about that comic too. The guy did a pretty nice animated version of the characters. Even NIghtviper (who got turned into a femmebot) looked cool. I sadly no longer have the link.

    Wtf?!?!?!!?

Ok... I can understand the need for a fresh new take on Transformers. But since when does this mean that you gotta kill the quality??? I swear to God I think Bruce Tim did more damage than good with his simplistic style!!!
I mean seriously, look at the cartoon that aired in 1984, now look at this... WHERE'S THE IMPROVEMENT?!?!?! Quality has gone completely down the tubes and it really pisses me off that it has bled into Transformers now. I mean why the hell do we have to make the damn robots look like they belong in Dexter's fucking Laboratory?!?!?!
Part of the great thing about Transformers is the technical aspect behind not only the concept, but also the character itself. Didn't you guy's learn anything from Beast Machines?!?!?!

It sucks that after almost 25 years, one hell of a kick ass animated movie, and countless series, spawns and revamps, THIS is what the next generation will bring!!!

I have to admit my primary concern is the kidish animation, but also annoying kids such as Rad, Carlos, Fred, Kicker, and any other kid from Armada, Energon, or Cybertron. I agree with most of what you said but the look of this show just leaves something to be desired. I have no problem with human villians but no human on earth can match the power of a 5 story tall robot. The decepticons are the enemy! Always has been, always should be.

Yep, they are. Let me repost my post that was totally ignored 30 pages before, since two or 4 people have been bickering amongst themselves since then...

Yes, they do. Looks kind of odd on Bumblebee and Bulkhead. I'm guessing they'll probably use them to move through traffic.

Wonder what wonderfully colorful human villain stereotypes we'll be blessed with in this show...

    - The evil millionaire tycoon bent on world domination?

    - The stereotypical Italian gangster that strikes a deal with the Decepticons for more power?

    - The obsessed military general convinced that EVERY transformer is bad and that the only good robot is a dead robot?

    - The evil mad scientist who's thirst for knowledge makes obsessed with cybertronian technology?

And this is off the top of my head...
Come one people!!!! I can't believe you guy's are seriously looking forward to this!!!!

    I miss Sunbow...:thumbdown
