The whole point of the pack-in and online Legends comics is that they are Takara-approved continuations of the Japanese G1 storyline mean to be in canon with the cartoon. For Twincast, the idea is that after the Headmasters cartoon he becomes a Headmaster himself thanks to Scorponok's attack and now uses a transtector shaped and colored like the original Broadcast/Blaster, which is why we see him in his original colors in the G-2 manga. These guys know their history and know what they are doing.

Did any of you pre-order Weirdwolf with TCP? If so did you get yours already?

    Exactly this.

On the other hand, there's nothing preventing Takara continuing the story even further and giving him a new transtector later in Twincast's colors. Literally anything can happen. If there's anything these pack-in comics demonstrate, it's that they are able to explain any crazy move Takara feels like making with the toys and incorporate it into the fiction.

He probably wasn't a Headmaster in that manga, though. That's the problem with these little retcons, every time you try and patch a plot hole, another one pops up.

Why don't you read the comic for yourself, then you won't have to be confused. And you won't risk looking foolish doubting Markdelg, the one who actually knows what he is talking about and was only trying to help you.

    Sure, ok.

That comment had nothing to do with Markdelg and his ability to keep track of this stuff, BTW. My comment was about Takara always trying to fit everything together to make sense in their "all is canon" G1 fiction and how that more often than not only opens up more problems than it really solves, but I guess that just makes me a fool for questioning the flawlessness of Takara and Sakamoto the work for hire toy pack-in prodigy.

Just read the comic. Explains everything. And these are not retcons; they're continuations.

It's just like American comics. Back in the 1980s, Thor became a frog for a while. Did I like it? No. Was it ridiculous? Yes. Is it part of continuity? Yes.

The way these characters become Headmasters makes sense within the context of the story. It opens up zero plot holes or continuity issues. You don't have to enjoy it but it is what it is. Tonally, I'm not over the moon with these pack-in comics, but I accept they are part of the ongoing continuity that Takara has spent the past 3 decades cultivating.

He was still Twincast in "Metrowars" (pre-G-2), so there is kind of a self-made continuity error (which is of course because Metrowars came out before Titans Return but takes place after it chronologically), but again, one could simply say that the Twincast we see in Metrowars is just his Headmaster form without the transtector. Problem solved. Or, like you said, perhaps Takara will make a Twincast-colored transtector and he can switch between the two.
