Sorry. I don't always succeed in the way I say things. I meant no offense. ( I was not rolling my eyes. I was trying to clarify) I honestly don't know if you already understood I didn't care about the potential of a higher resale value or not. I think what I was trying to convey was my frustration with this company and my willingness to abandon the sweetheart deal because I wanted to avoid the situation altogether.

got my Ollie v2 yesterday and have to say the toy overall is much better then v1. Came with the replacement thigh pieces for the chip paint issue and replacement face. I believe the one in the seal baggy is scratched up a bit. Overall didn't mind rebuying this figure as its a nice looking Wheelie. Now what should I do with my V1?? hmmmm

 

Use the plastic thighs as a replacement for the diecast ones

If these don't become available from XTB, I hope some kind member with casting skills can offer them up.

 

So just to clarify, how many people with this figure in hand have said it's a POS versus those who said it's fine?

 

By my count, a whopping three people have reported in this thread. One was unhappy (paint chips and stress marks) and the other two were happy.

Some people have commented on the 'dead eyes', but V1 had the same dark eyes, so really nothing has changed on that front. I agree they should be brighter though.

 

Every time I think I want this figure I am struck by the sudden realization it's Wheelie.

 

His face is fine. It’s exactly the same as the V1 version. Eyes are a little brighter blue than before, which I like. It’s hard to take a good picture of the face sculpt without a good camera, because it’s very tiny – less than half cm wide. But the lines in the face sculpt are as sharp or sharper then in V1 version. Of course if you didn’t like it before, I don't really think that will change.

The new face is scratched though and I didn’t even bother to try it. The replacement parts should include it in better quality with new better painted tights.

 

For members that purchased thru my supplier, just want to confirm we WILL all be getting the extra face and 2 replacement thighs as they are in hand now - no extra chaege. The extra bits will be shipped separately if your figure is already in transit or together with your figure if it has not shipped yet. PM me for questions or details.

Just an observation, but I don't really feel there are enough reports of v2 in hand to make an accurate assessment of the figure. Because of the history of the v1 figure (and because everyone hates Wheelie... Hehehe), I get a strong sense that alot of people want to kick XTB and Ollie v2 when he's down...

For those interested in picking Ollie v2 up or thinking about replacing an old v1, I'd suggest reviewing the posts carefully to figure out who actually has purchased a v2 and probably put a little more weight on their opinions.

Myself, I'm still hopeful he will turn out nicely. Too bad if there is scratched paint thighs but they are providing new ones so I don't really think XTB should be dinged for that.

Thanks; that's what I thought, but people were acting like there are scores of unsatisfied V2 owners. I thought maybe they were seeing complaints somewhere else.

I did notice a lot of people don't have him in hand yet to judge ... I hope the bulk of them are fine for you guys.

Still happy with my fixed v1 though :/

 

It was listed as Late September for the past week but now it's back to just September, which makes me think Mid Oct is more likely.
