Just got an email from BBTS and they're doing the same thing as well. Thought I'd share for those out there getting one from there:

    "Good morning David,

Unfortunately that is true and we just learned of it also. There will be replacement parts included with each piece ordered. From what I understand the parts are about a week out so once you receive your email confirmation stating the figure is available, that also means the parts are ready and included. Definitely a bummer to happen on a figure that was retooled for a reason in the first place! :)  "

So good to know they're taking care of those buying from them.

If the replacement thighs are painted diecast also, what's to stop them from getting scratched again? Maybe the paint is applied better?

Chipping paint on diecast is older than G1. I imagine that unless it is a different paint that adheres better, it will chip/scrape again. I'm generally not enthused about the idea of the diecast thighs, but I'm still going to give him a go and hope for the best.

Yeah, I don't think there will be any way to prevent paint chipping regardless of the type of paint used or how it's applied. Sucks to hear that the replacements are going to be die cast too. Sigh... XTB.... I love you guys but you really do some unnecessarily bone-headed things sometimes...

There is one slightly encouraging sign though. TCP posted some pics of him on their FB page and the die cast thighs look pretty acceptable. Still shiny and out of place, but a lot better than the pics posted by Daimchoc earlier.

You can mix in some Tamiya (or other brand) flat base with the future directly to get the finish you want. Back when I was painting regularly I had smaller containers that I kept aside with different ratios of future to flattener. Let me see if I can find the tutorial I used many moons ago...

...holy crap this post is 11 years old.

Are all retailers adding the replacement parts with all their Ollie v2 order? Does anyone know if tf-direct is doing this?

Just got this guy today. Paint was already chipped and the plastic was cracked and full of stress marks. It's very cheap Ko type plastic. No replacement parts with mine. I'm going to contact the retailer though. 20160926_171559.jpg 20160926_171542.jpg

Well that's disappointing. That looks pretty bad. Cracks, sloppy paint, chipping. XTB, you had one job...

Man that leg stressmark is ridiculous. As frustrated as xtb has made me, i've never seen anything like that in the products of theirs i've owned. Really hope this was just an anomoly.

I'm annoyed i broke my 'no more xtb preorders rule' for this guy after boost and hatch went so well for me. So hit and miss.

Seriously?? Wow. I wish XTB would do whatever KFC is doing. This news isn't reassuring at all. My Ollie v2 has already shipped but if it has similar problems then I think I'm done with XTB (KFC is still fine by me) at least as far as mini-bots are concerned. They seem to have a much better track record making articulated hands add-ons.
