this is not a TV media it works differently they are going to go off of views (even partial views) and ad revenue from click ads and pre-rolls. chances are they made money on it and there for was a success

 

Like I said, this would be alot better with TeamFourStar working on it.

 

Just watched the 7th episode (terrible) and this in one go.

Credit where credit is due, Megatron in gun mode being fired (and his little "more than meet's the eye" bit) were awesome. Megs has been great since his addition. But this series remains just terrible.

Terrible voice acting and Windblade controlling metroplex aside (that is not what cityspeaker means), wtf. Victorion as leader of the combiners when she's the newest one of them is ridiculous, though i guess it makes sense in the context of her being "born of" the enigma, whatever that means. But the combiners being their own race, essentially writing off all of their component mechs? No thanks. And all of the combiners suddenly getting along? Yeah right.

This whole mess was a clusterf*. I'm still laughing at blob Starscream's expressions and shrieking. If I had to boil the entire show down to one experience, it would be that. I hope we do get a TR show... produced by someone (ANYONE) else. And frankly if that's the last we'll see of Megatron after the characterizations we got after anyone else, I'm still not sure it could be redeemed.

Was hoping (before seeing any episodes) that this might redeem Windblade as a character for me, but nope. She's just awful in everything. Can we get a new
"fan favorite" now? Maybe focus on someone who's actually a good character, and not just stuffed down our throats because we voted on her appearance? The best thing that could have happened in this show was Windblade actually dying to bring the Titans back. Alas.

I think we can agree this series was a steaming pile of shit.

 

Wait, they're going off of how many people watch it and ad revenue to determine if it was successful? That sounds exactly like how TV works.

 

I blame the writers and producers; which can be found on imdb (I would have listed them but I felt cruel calling them out by name). I'm sure they are nice people but at the end of the day I wouldn't put my name on it. No idea how much input they got to really have though, it could have just been Hasbro shooting ideas down left and right, the end result being the most they could make from a bad situation.

I just don't know why this take on TF had to be made, it adds nothing to the lore that anyone would want to keep/incorporate later on. It doesn't cater to the G1 fans who would have wanted...combiners...warring...or something. I can't imagine it would cater to other fans either, as just about any other show/comic etc produced thus far is already better; might as well go back and watch old dvd's instead.

In the end, I think we are all just let down by what could have been. Short format videos could work really well if done right; Aeon Flux comes to mind, where you get these little action vignettes in a world that had seemed larger than what they were showing you. In that scenario though each story has to stand on it's own, and CW certainly does not. I'm reminded of advice often given to writers, before you try to write a novel write a 10 page story, or a five page, one page. This can help distill the story to just what it is you are trying to say, keeping the good elements and learning to let go of the bad.

I think even a limited cast can work really well, as long as each member has a role to fill that makes sense and have a chance to play off each other. Megatron was debatably the best part, and even he was only there for the last moment when Optimus decides to use him as a gun. What I'm saying is Megatron was basically reduced to a Pokemon, "I choose you, Megatron! Super Effective!"

After that you are just left cringe worthy dialog from bad voice acting.

About the only cool thing in this episod was Megatron\'s gun mode.

 

I have to admit, I am disappointed now that we've seen it all. The lack of combiners fighting-well, they coulda named the show anything but what it was.

 

The botch job I have witnessed here is nothing short of mind-boggling.

Never before have I seen a series fail quite so spectacularly at...nearly everything.

This has been a legitimate argument for failure as an art form.

a badly written character in a badly written series

 

Well, that was... something. It feels like they chopped out a lot. Even still, what we got felt bland. Starscream had a plan for taking control and failed, largely because he went in over his head. Real original. I want to rewatch the trailers and pretend they were talking about a much better show.

 

I am so glad I had absolutely no expectations for this series and was able to sit back and enjoy this trainwreck.

So now that the combiner wars series is done I just have so many questions. how did it happen like what happened why was it so weird? Why did nothing makes sense? Why do the combiner is do nothing? Was there a voice director? Did Machinima not care? Did Hasbro not care? Were their budget issues? Seriously why do the combiners not do anything? What was starscream’s plan? Why is Metroplex’s arm just underneath the city? Why does Megatron turn into a Superscope?

honestly I had some expectations for CW, but like... idk man with the previews + the V.As being announced my interest kinda died
I didn't even watch the episodes until that article comparing it to GoT because I wanted some context before shitting on that article. this is... bad. not awful, but also not neato burrito. I could watch this when I'm bored or drunk or when the energy's out or all of the above

 

Not going to lie, this series was very dissapointing.

Has there been any TF series that rivals TF Prime yet?  Will there ever be?
