Go back and read through a lot of this thread and you will see that BB7 is making high quality KOs of the seekers with a variety of repaints that were never officially made. I have the BB7 SW and will say it feels better than my official MP-11 molds.

So, from what I can gather from the latest photos, the strip across the bottom of Megatron's chest has no paint in the final retail toy.

That's a giant bummer unless I'm seeing the photos wrong.

Did anyone see the fanart by Cosmitron75 of Megatron 2.0?

Great artwork but the figure it depicts looks pretty bad. MP-29's big brother...

As much as I like the direction of Takara's designers with the latest figures they produced, I love how Despotron is a good matching design for Hasui's MP-10. At least that's how it looks to me. Just can't wait to be delivered.

Everyone saw it, it's some of the best artwork posted on here in years, and captures Megatron 110%. If the toy comes out half that good, that thing will sell like mad.

I don't have mine in hand yet but I would assume if that's the case it's unpainted because of one of a few reasons.

Paint rub/transfer or being made of an entirely different material than the upper chest portion (or both)

Peaugh had already sent the test shot off to another reviewer when he learned of the fix, so he couldn't try it, if I remember correctly. I believe he said it involved a pin not being pushed all the way in.

That is an odd one.. it looks like QC compared to the MakeToys promo pics in this thread and on the Box itself. Haven't got mine yet but looks like a different material as you say. Look at the TCP in hand production shots. The first shot head on doesn't show but from a different angle it does. Amount of reflection in the paint or "silver" plastic issue at a different photo angle?

It's painted the same silver as the rest of him, the light in those photos just doesn't show it well because it's been tabbed in at a slight angle so it's reflecting differently.

I got mine in hand today and it's incredible, no issues with the legs at all.

It's painted, it just shows up funny in photos when it's not tabbed in flat and being shot straight on.

Quick and dirty pic of mine just standing around since I havent had time to badge him and put him on my shelves yet. See how the strip looks the same colour as the tops of his forearms? It's just the light, trust me.

I just got mine out of the box.

    Initial findings:

The plug came right off, as expected at this point.

That lower chest piece is painted, but it can look like it's a different color based on lighting, as I even thought it was unpainted at first when I saw it at an angle, but it was clearly painted when I looked at it straight.

So far, neither knee is sliding in on mine.

And a quick phone camera shot (sorry it's not the greatest):

This is why I have chosen Despotron. I think all of the offerings are great in their own way but Despotron matches the proportions/design of mp-10 the best. I have always loved the heroic proportions of MP-10 and now I will finally have a properly intimidating villain to challenge him. :thumb
