^Thanks. Alright, so due to a pricing error, i got 4 new Spiderman wave figures all for 45 dollars. Was going to get them anyway, but i love the savings.
Hobgoblin, no contest. Electro is amazing, but Hobby is my favorite Spidey villain and this toy is amazing.
clayorrnotcustoms Never bought from here, but I've been browsing the store and it looks pretty legit.
Decided to stop at Walmart today on my way to dinner and they had a very stripped down aisle display that had some of the Giant Man wave, namely Cap and Nuke. And a single Iron Man. Looked at him, wanted him, and long story short, bought him. Wow, I had seen reviews and they were all rather harsh on this figure, but in my hands, I have zero complaints. He looks great, poses well, I think he's the best Iron Man figure I have. I'm probably easy to please, two repulsor hands, fists, effects, looks like a guy in a suit, painted and articulated. That suits me just fine, pun intended.
I want to eventually get Hobgoblin, but I'm trying to keep the spending down for a little while. I haven't seen him in the store, though.
Well... dang. I didn't even notice. I suppose if it's important enough, I could just silver sharpie it, but I didn't even notice.
Hmm a auction ends today for a Onslaught with both Red Skull and Magneto head, don't know if it's worth between 40 and 60 pounds edit: Went over 60 ,backed out of that one
Looks like the online retailers are starting to discount the virtual pegwarmers, it seems. Amazon has X-Men Iceman, Phoenix, Kitty and Havok all under $15. Space Venom wave Spider-Man and Miles Morales Spider-Man are under $15 too. Onslaught wave Whirlwind is $11 (wasn't someone looking for him?), so is Cap and Mockingbird. Scourge is under $15 too, as-is Taskmaster. Absorbing Man wave Jack O' Lantern, Speed Demon, Beetle, Morbius are all $13 and under. Giant-Man wave Red Guardian is $11, Nuke is $11. Cap is $13, Iron Man is $12. Dorkside has the Abomination wave Captain America for $7.99 and Captain Britain for $14.99. Looks like my patience on the X-Men wave just saved me about $15 and the remaining figures I need get shipped straight to my door. My strategy for this year is paying off -- get the hottest two or so figures for retail price when the wave hits, get everyone else I want when online retailers start dropping the price. I mean, look at those prices -- I feel bad for anyone who paid $20 a piece for any of those figures. It's getting pretty easy to pick out which two per wave will sell the best and which ones will drop in price. Haven't been wrong once this year on any wave.
I hate my sporadic, ironic luck. Friday at lunch I stopped by a Target and a Walgreens looking for the elusive Deadpool. Nothing again. Decided, "Eh, fuck it. I can justify $40.00 for an ebay purchase." So, I bought one off of ebay for $41.00 Shipped. I was grumbly, but whatevs, it was just $40.00. I head home at the end of the day, and stopped by the Walgreens by my house to pick up a few things non-related to toys. I walk down the toy isle anyway, because that's what I do. Guess what was sitting right up front of the row of Antman, Yellow Daredevil, and Punishers? One, single, solitary, not with any other X-men Wave, Deadpool. Fuck you.
It was fairly obvious that xmen wave while popular would get over produced and saturate. Same thing will happen to the Dr strange wave as it did the Ant Man wave and the Guardians wave before it. Only x factor was deadpool, who has far far too popular to ever peg warm anywhere. Had so many great deals on the line since the Odin wave, I really don't mind the occasional full price retail wave, especially this one as deadpool preorders sold out quickly and there was some uncertainty in the beginning about how widespread the wave would be.
Found my first Deadpool at TRU over the weekend. Felt like I won the lottery. I love going to TRU in the morning and watching 4 other guys run to the Hot Wheels aisles while I leisurely trot like Pepe Le Pew to the action figure aisle by myself. <--- In 1492, Columbus sailed the ocean blue. Always wanted to say that.
Yeah they are. But I don't think they're as "popular" anymore. At least not in my area. I mean, I still have a few scalpers running around trying to hoard all the super treasure hunts...but other than that they're still being sold in droves at the local Walmarts.
Yeah, I jumped the gun by ordering the X-Men wave but oh well. As the conversation went a while back, these things aren't worth $20 to me and it seems perfectly reasonable for online retailers to offer the discount I mentioned for preordering cases since they will eventually clearance these things out for even less. I've been doing pretty much the same, waiting for deals and for the most part, not paying more than $15 and often less than $10 for these figures.
