Transformers: Combiner Wars S1:E5 Homecoming https://www.go90.com/profiles/va_76d339377a884aab97be734ad7cb9343 I'm going to make it through the whole series, but there are so many things that frustrate me. The VO for Rodimus is starting to grow on me though.
What was that monotone voice that said "Don't let this happen" that came out of nowhere and added nothing to the scene?
Probably Metroplex or Fortress Maximus appealing to Windblade. Wow, not much comments. Has everybody really given up on this show? I thought this episode was pretty good. Some cringy parts, like Mistress pulling rank on Windblade but for the most i found it to be on a level with last episode. Where the hell did Devastator come from and why did he rip Rodimus apart? Is he after the enigma himself?
Kinda disappointed with the ending. The previous episode made it seem a lot like the Constructicons would use Optimus' team as a diversion and then use the Enigma to become Devastator. Instead Devastator simply comes out of the ground with no explanation for as to how he can combine. What? I sure hope the next episode clears things up...
And here's an episode 1 gripe coming back; Why would Combiners be a deterrent to the Windblade/Optimus/Megatron team, when Windblade's (*ugh*) perfectly capable of taking them all out single-handedly.
Now that I've seen a big enough sample, I've got a few opinions about this "series": I see this "series" as the Transformers version of G.I. Joe's "Resolute". I enjoy that series much more when watched as a movie, and I really wish I could just see all of these segments as a movie, rather than have to wait for little five minute segments. I'm really starting to find this much more entertaining than the current Robots In Disguise series. I'm not really sure which side I'm supposed to be rooting for here. I guess the two sides aren't really a traditional "good vs evil". It's more like two different political sides.
While I am more satisfied with the voice work and dialog this episode, there is so much of the screenplay that I don't like. Having Megs, Optimus and Windblade sneaking in via different routes served no purpose. The 3 on 3 showdown is pointless. It's "council" vs "renegades" but why? Prime must still hold some respect on cybertron. hell, the Camiens, particularly the Mistress, are supposed to view him as a deity. He should have the ability to just walk back into New Iacon (or at least, that should be where they are) and voice his concerns to the council. And here's something I just realized....who are they council fighting against? They keep talking about "we need to use the enigma so we have a fighting chance"...against whom? Devastator is apparently still around, but Menasaur is dead. Computron is out of the game, but he was on their side to begin with. this show is littered with fear of an unknown enemy by all sides. People are just running around impotently spouting imperatives about a conflict that has shown NO sense of destruction, aside from a battle on Caminus that is already ended.
This episode was the first one where it didn't feel like they just burned through running time. Also how did a Combiner slip through every single security measure?
Pretty Much. also >Homecoming. This is the 4th time they've used this as an episode title/issue title.
So...this is semi-nonsense. What do I have to do to see this? Because I got about a quarter of the way through that user-agreement thing and bailed. Is it going to cost me anything?
