Not counting his gun trigger butt cheeks, one of the things that blew my mind about Apollyon was he had what appeared to be no kibble whatsoever above his shins that wasn't supposed to be there. His back just has the gun barrel.. How in the heck!? Sorcery! Witchcraft! A Megatron without a random backpack is impossible!!!1!11!11one1oneone

It's been about a year now and my Megatron is still as good as ever. One foot poses just worked with no fuss and its actually been standing on its own on one foot from that last shot since then. No stands or trickery needed, in fact Grimlock was the one who needed help from Megs in one shot and a box in another:




Loving both these figures and Megatron has still proven to be the best Transformer I own. I feel bad for the few people who seem to have gotten poor examples of either of these figures.

 

I just used Goo Gone to remove some glue residue from a sticker and im happy to report it works pretty well...It didnt remove any paint or anything like that..Cleaned the old glue and installed the new sticker on his chest and he looks awesome....I also decided to tighten up his ankle joint and his heels...Dropped a bit of glue and now he is perfect..No wiggle no nothing..I just put him down and he stays

 

Well, today was a good day until a few minutes ago, my apollyon broke today, snapped in half. I was so upset with my self, I'll just replace it with v2 megatron i guess.

 

That sucks man, maybe you can replace him for cheap? People seem to be selling their Apollyon's now.

I'm guessing that the little pin sheared in half. You're not the first one this has happened to. Big Hache showed a proposed fix that would likely work depending on your skill level. His post was here.

Personally speaking, my Apollyon is here to stay. At least until Takara finally decides to release one.

 

None of the three new MP Megatrons change the fact that Appy is great. If I liked Appy two months ago, there is no reason for me to not like him now. He will be staying. And he will be joined by Despotron and Megatron.  

 

I'm keeping Appolyon for gun mode only. Out of all of them, he still looks the best in gun mode IMO.

It's not the same, I don't like apollyon, his joint's are wrong, he doesn't have much articulation, he looks like it, but it isn't him. Now, is the right time for mp megatron 2.0, sucks for apollyon.

Hey, I was just about to buy soundwave for $300 for sale. But then, my dad took all my money away from me for punishment, (he overeacts too much), and when I had the money, hasbro takara soundwave reissue came.

 

Respectfully disagree sir. MP-05 has by far the best gun mode (which is probably why his bot mode suffers so much). You may be one of the lucky ones, but my Apollyon's alt mode is terrible. It looks like a transformer that wont tab right in any place.

 

I will be getting Takara's Megatron, but I am glad to have Apollyon as well. I don't hate the official one but I have a feeling he's not going to have the same "shelf presence" as XTB's version. I know they're going for cartoon proportions but he just looks kind of... wimpy.  

I kind of hope they go with a flatter finish on him, just to differentiate the two a bit. I'll probably get the Reprolabels set for Apollyon and give him the swirly chest design look, too.
