Yeah, I get what you mean. The animation is pretty dated but I really loved the original series...we had a fairly young hero going against all types of villains who had interesting backgrounds. The mobile suits were so cool and interesting too. The RX, Zakus, Gouf, Doms etc. The good thing is there is a chance Bandai might reissue it so don't buy it at a high price. Why don't you just try a figure first but I have to warn you that the line is pretty addictive. I personally think its 'worse' (in terms of addiction)! LOL! At times I think how many more Zakus should I pick up...X) Yeah, in a way, my interest in Gundam is coming back but I'm thinking of building my MG kits. I have around 10-15 unbuilt kits...
^nice! Those two mecha are probably the most iconic in anime history. As much as I like Char's Zaku II, my fave MS for him is the Gelgoog. It looks pretty menancing but abit on the bulky side.
First new Robot Spirits in a while. Each one is damned impressive in its own right: - Force Impulse isn't the sexiest in terms of color scheme (the usual red/white/blue Gundam look, with some sky blue thrown in), but the accessories is where this guy wins out compared to others. Interesting effects (namely the sword here) plus all the other goodies (the alternate effects that let you run through another Gundam with the sword is morbidly amusing) were what caught my eye in the first place, and in-hand it's what I was hoping its preview pics made it out to be. - UG Destroy is something I'd skipped buying before, and now I'm kicking myself for not doing it before. I'm a sucker for "heavily armed characters that can wear virtually everything they come with simultaneously," and just discovering this guy fits that bill makes me glad I finally got it. The metallic red bits help make it stand out so it's not boring to look at, even when unarmed (which was something I was worried about since I own or am interested in flasher UGs like Final Shot, UG 03 Phenex & Shield Funnel). - Kshatriya is a beast. Holy shit. Blissfully, it's easy to assemble & disassemble. I wish I had enough room to display it with all the effects bits connected, in all its glory. I'm glad it doesn't need a stand to stay upright, but the fact it comes with one is appreciated (and wish more RS releases did, even ones that aren't bulky as fuck). - Leprechaun Hyper is my first Aura Battler RS. I mainly got it because clear plastic figures are still a thing of mine, but for what it is, it's nice. The mix of clear blood red & metallic pinkish(?) red is nice, and all the things going on with this thing (the opening chest & shins, all the toe/foot joints, the sheath for the sword) make this a worthwhile purchase for me. The teeny tiny Aura Battlers thrown in as accessories was an unexpected plus. I don't know if I'll go after more, but this makes me confident any others will be worth it.

^ cool shot dude! Reminds me that I yet to open my Char's Z'gok! By the way has there been any news on any new figures based on the 'One Year War'? I really hope we get to see the Gelgoog and Gyan!
Not really. The GM is now in stock and I guess the Zeon prototype figures (YMS 09 and MS 07C-5) are coming in the next months. I`m waiting for the Zaku 1.
Oh, I didn't know Bandai is going to release those prototype Zeon suits! I need to think about getting them. I almost picked up the G3 Gundam but I didn't like the all-white hands. In most versions of the MS, the hands are a light grey.
The G3 looks nice, I understand your issue with the color of the hands. Overall I really like this line, since I´m more of a 0079 guy. The accessories are dope.
Not really that impressed with the GM to get it right now. I rather wait and get the moar bettah lookin' Ground-GM. If Bandai decides to offer it at all soon...
I await the seed stargazer suits, blue duel en buster verde and and hopefully also a slaughter dagger and a ginn somewhere in the future RD has become very expensive and that will be the downfall of the line. The OYW are technically cool designs, but i hate the oldschool look, so i won't buy them.
So we had our Christmas party with our friends tonight and here is what I got: I had the Qubeley on my Xmas list, but the added bonus of the original Gundam was quite surprising. I already knew what to expect out of the Qubeley and it does not disappoint. It's my favorite non-Gundam mobile suit after all. I do wish the funnels were a bit more... mobile because they were tough to put on and they can't move. This is one time I would have rathered had some type of bendy wire, especially given how fragile they are. As I said above, the original Gundam was a true surprise because I had no interest in it, but holy crap I am so glad I got it. This thing is awesome. The amount of accessories he comes with is down right outstanding. I think the only things missing are the Gundam Hammer and the lance. The articulation also seems to be improved over the other Gundams I have and he doesn't feel as fragile. Oh, I did have a laugh at the packaging yet because it says anime on it. Like no **** sherlock. Finally, a look at my (now) Gundam shelf:
That Rx 78 figure is one of my favorite action figures. At first I wasn't interested and only got one when it was like $27 on sale so I could do the cel shading thing on it but I liked it so much I just left it as is. I wish I bought another.
