I noticed the threads are on sliding mechanisms, but it never gets mentioned in the instructions... what's up with those?

Can the cannons be attatched to his back without the tower pieces inbetween?

    How do you mean?

The guns plug into the "afterburners" on his back, which are also the pieces that the towers are attached to.

Not that I'm aware of. There are other plugs for the guns but not on the back.

Anyone pop off the sliding treads on the legs? One of mine popped off. Really not sure how, there is no stress on the tread or on the tab on the leg.

Question is, anyone know how to get it back on? The screws are impossible to undo on the tread to successfully pull the halves apart.

    thoughts?

The towers are non-removable. They are ratcheted to his back the same as any of his limb ratchets are ratcheted and the cannons have tabs so when they slot in they don't move so you rotate the tower the canon rotates with it.

I have no idea how you managed that. But surely the screws can be unscrewed with enough force, just need a sharp edged screwdriver, hope ya didn't strip em already lol.

Has @Maz shot the Titan Masters with Utopia? Here is my crude attempt at photographing them together.

I haven't as yet, but seeing your picture I think it's time!

I've only recently got everything unpacked again so Utopia is once more accessible :)

    All the best

I'm looking forward to seeing your Utopia TR photo shoot too. ... and then I'll say it's Maz's fault for pushing me over the edge on Jan 1 when I click on place order for Utopia (been holding out since release, was going to on Black Friday but CP's Pandinus sale took priority). I'll call Visa to have my credit card bill forwarded to you when the time comes hehehehe ;)

Oh dude, Utopia is ESSENTIAL. Utterly magnificent figure and a must-have for me. I truly have been bowled over by it, and nothing that has come since in the city bot category either official or unofficial has bested it yet for quality, looks or wow factor IMO. He also has one of the very best headsculpts ever on a 3P figure.

    All the best

Arrgghh, you are so right that it's essential. I've seen it on display at A3U a number of times and I really want to pull the trigger. I'm just afraid that the second I order it, the price drops big time. If it dips to $350 it's an instabuy for me.

In the beginning I wasn't so hot on his headsculpt but in the past couple of months I've really warmed up to it. I can imagine if in our never-ending fictitious battles, everything is being thrown against Utopia, he just flicks off danger with a 'meh' with a bit of a pouty lip and gets down to business of saving the day and then goes on to say, "what? There was a battle going on???". That's what his sculpt says to me. Soooon it'll join my household!

Funnily enough the head sculpt is the only thing i'm not super taken with on utopia, its a small criticism tho.
Well, that and he's not 3ft tall just for s and g's!

Same here actually, and I've had utopia for a couple years now. He's worth every penny, but I wish they would release a replacement head. I actually contacted maketoys asking them if I could buy Dystopia'a head only haha but they said it wasn't in stock. Doesn't help that my Utopia's face broke off very easily :(

I'm still sad the upscaled version of this guy got canceled.

Of course I'm also still sad that the Toyworld Fort Max isn't getting upscaled either. :lol

I found good deals on both Utopia and Pandinus and pulled the trigger after I saw how cool they were in person at TFCon. It's crazy how well built and detailed both of them are.

Dystopia and Utopia have been below 300 at a few places I've seen. People would be crazy to not pick either up at that price point.

I too also wish Utopia had a better head sculpt, and weirdly that's exactly what MT did for Dystopia and it looks sooo much nicer. Utopia has that super youthful anime face thing going on with his cute mouth and tiny jaw line whereas Dystopia has the big powerful tough guy type face you'd expect a citybot to have.

Thankfully MT didn't make the same mistake with Pandinus but ironically due to the mass of his outer head and the fact he's always angled forward unless you lean his torso back you don't get to see the wonderful face sculpt underneath all that much. That and even though Pandinus is technically shorter than Utopia, he has so much more mass and bulk his head just seems a good 20-30% too small for his body even by citybot standards.

Yup. Same thing here, seeing Utopia in a robot sandwich between Dystopia and Pandinus covered by IF and DX9 bots at A3U made me nerdgasm, I gotta get in on that action. Well, Pandinus is on the way and I'll place an order for Utopia on Jan.1 with BBTS assuming they still have it in stock (qty.4 remaining) at $370 or wait to see if TFS can match that or do better at $300 when they had the sale last Jan.1. Dystopia not too keen on it as I didn't pay attention to Metrotitan when I was a kid and so it still doesn't do anything much for me now. However Metroplex and Scorponok played a big part in my childhood back, so I need these to guys to reconnect.
