that pic makes me want to get wreck gar and allen. I never liked wreck gar as a kid, but that looks sweet as hell.

 

Man, the more I see this guy in action poses, the more I want him.

 

He looks great with the other figures! A must buy! I keep having that frustrating feeling that buzzing is too tall. Blurr should be around MP Hotrod height if not a hair taller...

Could MP28 benefit being a bit bigger? Yeah probably but I'd argue he looks just fine.

What really bugs me is if I break down and get him, I'm fulling embracing the idea that the season 3 movie characters are basically a whole different size class than the season 1/2 MP's. Hot Rod and my beautiful custom Generations Springer (who is easily nicer than this) both fit with the MP cars. If I keep getting the bigger bots that really won't be the case.

 

TB, did you give your opinion or feedback of this figure yet? Checked a few pages but maybe I missed it.

 

I've been checking scale charts myself for S3 recently and Springer is pretty consistent in his height and that's Rodimus Prime height. The rest of the S3 guys fit in between Roddy and a car and are more often than not more around Ironhide than a car so arguably MP28 is too short. Like I said earlier though I'm at peace with his height now as he's the kid of the bunch.

Not yet. Gonna have some more playtime first then give my thoughts.

 

I like Allen's size. Since he'll be spending his time with other S3ers like Ultra Magnus, Buzzing and MP-09, the bigger the better. As TB says, Hot Rod was meant to be a young'un after all, and he was only properly around for the movie (replaced by Rodimus Prime for S3). And while I recall Optimus towering over his troops in S1/2, IIRC Rodimus Prime wasn't much bigger than the rest of his S3 gang.

That said, I definitely wouldn't want an MP Arcee taller than MP-28!

 

I think the size is perfect. It's Magnus that's too tall, but by a head and a half. Buzzing is good scale wise too. Arcee needs to be slightly shorter than Buzzing and I'm sure UT will deliver!!

 

These guys are in reasonable scale with each other.

What bugged the crap out of me as a child was that suddenly with season 3 charaters everyone was much bigger than before. I really like my custome generations Springer and MP Hot Rod are actually close to the size of the other MP cars. The scale chart has very little to do with it. I just don't really want to re-embrace the ridiculous size issue I had to deal with as a child.

It's a personal thing that ties into a questionable thing hasbro did (for what ever reason) when I was small. That's all.

 

Hope UT makes arcee the same as they did for allen.

I totally get it.
All the season 3 guys were about Optimus height and all roughly the same, and that just always seemed boring compared to the season 1 and 2 guys who were all so different. So now I have to wonder, how big is MP Arcee really gonna be, and how is she gonna look next to MP HotRod or MP Prowl. I like Gen Springer too and I like how it fits in with my MPs, but I have to admit, seeing picks of Allen here with the movie crew is pretty sweet.

 

Magnus isn't even that bad, arguably half a head shorter would be perfect but it is what it is. I personally like him the size he is, looks like a powerhouse and gonna be good foil for xtb Cyclonus.

I will say I don't like the yellow feet at all. I thought they might grow on me in hand but they aren't and in every pic they stand out like a sore thumb. I hope they do something about that on the final release.

 

The yellow feet are my least favorite part. If they don't change the color, I will be.

 

Are they painted yellow? Green underneath? I wonder about stripping the paint and leaving the bare plastic.... Green was the correct for the feet?

 

Grey is the correct color for the feet. But due to his engineering, the feet make up the front of the car/wing bits of his helicopter. And I believe...depending on the source, that green or green w/yellow is correct for that. So you'll never be able to get all 3 modes with accurate colors.

 

TB, I need to use your Buzzing tutorial. Looks a hundred times better than mine.

 

the toes are diecast. It's just shiny metal underneath.

 

Wonder how hard it would be to mold your own foot covers to solve this. Whoever thought that up as a solution before had a good idea. I've only ever recasted an Alternators sideswipe head but in that case i wasn't creating something from scratch.
