Still enjoying it for what it is. Still not fantastic. Still not abysmal in my opinion. Just okay.

I continue to enjoy that it's at least sort of in G1 continuity... sort of... and is an animated "thing" to watch. The first of which I've had since Beast Machines ended. So I have to take it for what it is at least, since there's nothing else for me.

Not like I can watch the mainline cartoons and enjoy them. (I've tried.) This does make me maybe want to get into IDW though finally. I have a comixology subscription. Maybe I should.

I would be lying if I said I hated this episode. This one was good. The series is still pretty bad but it seems to be getting better. Just wish it was maybe a few more minutes longer.

Yeah I think 10 or 15 minutes would be better.

Really the other mainline shows were good. Animated and prime were great. R.I.D. 2015 is a letdown for a sequel to prime, and the show itself is not to great. Armada wasnt bad, energon was kinda terrible, cybertron i actually enjoyed. R.I.D 2001 was fun but it wasnt a to great transformer show. Have not had much of a chance to see the two japanese beast wars shows, only seen bits and peices of it. Beast machines has some great dark elements to it and the story was not ad bad as people think, i think what makes people not like it much is that it ventures to far from the whole " Transformers" aspects and is no where near as good as beast wars was, that show is great. Transformers "go" is too samurai and to much cell shading for me, only seen an episode of that and i think it was the last one. Tf zone was actually an interesting episode and i wish they would have made an actual full lenght show. Victory is a baddass show, i really enjoy the animation for that one. Masterforce is a bit weird and at first i did not want to watch it becuase i hate pretenders but its an okay show. Headmasters is one for me that i dont care for, the original cartoon continuity should have ended after season 3 of G1 more than meets the eye. Once in a while i'll watch it but its hard for me to watch. Ahhh liitle old more than meets the eye G1, the show that started it all. Although its lack of an overall story especially in season 1 and 2 , the episodes are just Golden. Its the original man!!! The shows have had hits and misses so hopefully the next Tv show will be a good one like prime or beast wars.

The story is paper thin, but I gotta say the last two episodes picked the enjoy factor a bit.
    Last Episode was a win
    1. Megatron Fushion Canon'd Starscream
    2. Devastator rips apart Rodimus ... Now if Devastator would kindly move on to Windblade and Wheelie...

    hehehe.

Yep, I would probably enjoy this is in three part episodes... 15-20 minutes each...
    5 minutes is ridiculous.
Guess I could wait for them all to play out and watch them back to back...
Maybe then I would care a little about what they are babbling about.

Voice acting has grown on me... except Starscream...Sorry trying way too hard with little success.
A lot of these characters needs a voice synthesizer .... badly.
The one that doesn't need it, Prime, is using one to sound more robot?

The art and animation is decent. They got the g1 Megatron Face down. Like how he doesn't look combiner wars and more g1 gun Megs.

If you liked Beast Wars, you should be able to enjoy Animated. They're similar in a lot of ways. Both are complete departures visually from what came before, leading to a knee-jerk WTF reaction from many longtime fans, but both have a very strong emphasis on character and story. Once you get past the Dexter's Lab art style, and especially once you get into the second season, Animated is a very satisfying series.

And if you can enjoy this Machinima thing, then I definitely recommend IDW. It has some of the surface elements of this, but done a billion times better.

Why do Rodimus and co. think they're outmatched when they're sitting at the top of a massive base with loads of armaments?

Why are Optimus and co. having a conversation when they're miles away from each other and supposedly sneaking around? Why do they keep jumping up to really high places, only to jump down again?

I'm not sure I can turn my brain down low enough to enjoy this.

I think Rodimus thought that even WITH the armaments, they are no match for Optimus AND Megatron. Who knows...maybe Windblade is in that class too.

I wasn't crazy about Prime, myself. But did you watch Animated all the way through? It took a lot of convincing for me to even give it a try, and even towards the end of the first season, I still wasn't really sold on it. But by the middle of season 2, I loved it.

This is pretty much the clarion cry of the site when it comes to the sacred cow cartoons: "Watch it til you like it". When I stated that I had watched BW all the way through so I could accurately critique it, I was told to watch it again. Absurd.

Hey, I just asked. Because I know that if I had stopped Animated midway through season 1 like I was planning to, I'd be telling everyone today how much the show sucked and how crazy I thought everyone was for liking it.

If you've watched Beast Wars all the way through and still dislike it, fair game. But don't be so sensitive when people are incredulous about your opinion. Being a fan of the Transformers concept but not being able to enjoy Beast Wars is like saying you are a fan of cinema but hating Citizen Kane. Of course it's possible and you're far from alone, but it's hard to reconcile.

Plus, he said he was enjoying THIS. I don't care how much you don't like whatever TF tv show. Wouldn't you choose any of them over this thing?

I kept checking in on it periodically. I couldn't get past the character designs and spirit of the thing personally. Just not my cup of tea.

I said I'm enjoying it for what it is... and that it's not fantastic lol. :p  It's still closer to what I want than anything else they've done since BM (at least in the U.S.)

What can I say? I need to feel at least a tangential thread of continuity to G1 and those characters and that universe. And that sort of character design sensibility, or something like it. That's my continuity. That's my thing. I loved War For/Fall of Cybertron and Devastation for those reasons, too. They felt like they could be in that universe (even if technically the former two weren't, it could work as a twist on pre-G1.)

I will say this is making me want to read IDW finally though at least.

All transformers cartoons kind of suck. There's just different degrees of suck.
G1 is just 80's cheese. Prime was too devoted to its status quo to go anywhere. BW had low budget animation for the time but was otherwise fairly okay. BM tried so hard to be grimdark that it lost what people liked about BW. RiD was boring anime with some really cool designs. Armada was a victim of trying to rush its production and sell toys. Energon exists. Cybertron spent most of its time shamelessly padding itself and going back and forth on whether or not it wanted to be in continuity with the rest of the Unicron Trilogy. Animated relied too much on nostalgia, homages, and other nerdgasmy stuff to be accessible to a widespread audience (Admittedly that doesn't necessarily make it "bad" but it does explain why it was cancelled with so many ideas (ironically the most original plot points and designs) brewing)

Rescue Bots is hilariously enough the best because it's cutesy wootsy fun for preschoolers, and it's apparently succeeding very well at that.
