He was just released here yesterday, so I assume he's on his way to international sellers/stores as we speak.

 

Released already in China? So maybe a week or two until retailers have him!

Would really like to know what it looks like and how he'll be packaged !

 

Don't know, I just got a notice from one of the stores I buy from that he's in stock and ready to go. The store is in Guangzhou where most of the factories are, so I'm not surprised they have it first. It will probably take a few days to get to other cities like Shanghai, Beijing...etc.

Of course, sometimes "In Stock" on Taobao means "We'll have it in a couple days", lol.

I've seen some reviews, and I have to say I will be buying this figure when it hits The States. The Head Sculpt and paint job are spot on, and I love how the Fusion Cannon Shrinks for Robot mode. I can't wait!

 

yeah there is just too much G1 toon goodness here.

taking the quakewave approach with mightron, buying him now and will wait to see what TT does in the future. if nothing, I win, if something, I get to decide whether or not it's a better figure than mightron.

fwiw, I still have QW and QB over lazerwave so I might just stick it out if mightron is that good in hand.

Sixo - how is the paint? I see a few surface scratches on yours, but I assume since those things have to get around to 200 billion reviewers they get a bit banged up in the process. have you noticed that you yourself have put any unintentional scratches into the silver paint?

 

Paint is nice overall and catches the light well. The review copy is indeed scratched to hell, but UT Allen was in a similar shape. They've both been thrown around quite a bit from what I can see. I have accidentally made a small scratch on one bit during transformation, in an area that already had loads of scratches, as there a section which is quite hard to separate. Fingers crossed it will be easier on the retail version, as these things often are!

 

I'm surprised to hear it's released already, but that's great news.

I was going to pass on him but damn it he looks good. it's all your fault Kuma and Sixo, once you guys get your hands on stuff my wallet gets smaller.

That head....really makes this version stand out. I usually don't get hung up on face sculpts much but this one is special.

I agree. It's a main reason (along with his overall G1 cartoon look) that I'm going to pick this figure up despite being impressed with Maketoy's Despotron (so clean and those curved shins)...

 

So I don't have a Megatron...haven't really felt much need to have one previously. That said, Sixo is once again swaying me with his photography.

That said, I know at least BBTS does those orange barrel plugs things. Anyone had any experience with those and can discuss how easy (or not) they are to get out?

 

This looks great, except for the stubby arm cannon.

 

JREAM may be interested in making filler panels for the chest. Im thinking about sending him mine when it gets here so he can see how to make a filler piece around the armpit like he has done with so many other figures. Bumblebee and sideswipe most notably. If someone else is closer to JREAM than I am. (VT - FL) and they want to let him borrow yours that's cool. If not I have no problem doing so.

 

That's funny because I've had several people voice this complaint to me, but I'm guessing people don't realise that the cannon collapses during transformation to robot mode. It can just as easily be left extended as it would be for gun mode. Observe...




Personally I like the shorter version. Only MP-styled Megs thus far that has an appropriately-sized cannon.

 

The arm cannon being able to collapse a bit to make it look more G1 cartoon is a major feature for many.
