I wouldn't mind it if it could be removed as a display option, but if it can't then I'll need to cover it up with paint or a grey sticker.

 

I don't like his face. Too gaunt. Too alien basically.

 

If I'm not mistaken, the comics of either of the reviews that I saw, Megatron ripped the matrix out of Optimus, so it's not really a 'decepticon matrix'...they both struggled for it afterward, and then this whole reformatted "cross dimension"...maybe that's why you can see where the matrix WAS on the striker manus...it was ripped out, now he's trying to obtain it again...anyway, it was shown on one of the reviews

 

those cheeks remind me a lot about apollyon. ughhh. the cheeks are so flat yet so distinct at the same time. hope they have face options. would love it if the face is chrome or silver while the rest of the body is grey.

It's not like he's an extra-terrestrial or something ... oh wait!  

 

Concerning the dark matrix or rubicon as it's called in the comics, Despotron steals it from Manus before they're both transported to a new world and reformatted so while regular Manus may have carried the rubicon Striker doesn't and his body doesn't hold one whereas Despotron became Rioter while still in possession of the rubicon.


This is both from the comic that came with Manus and from the Maketoys rep after we inquired about it. They're keen to create an ongoing story with the pack in comics and have their toys reflect this.

 

i'm digging the double barreled hand cannon mode Rioter's got here.

 

I don't care for the face, but everything else looks incredible.

 

Kinda bummed that they didn't paint the grey plastic silver. That aside, I still love the look of this guy.

 

Sporting a Decepticon Matrix, eh? Hah.

Also, of all the Manga-esque figures Maketoys has made over the years... this is by far the most Manga-esque of them all. Don't see this guy fitting in with anything but their own Maketoys figure sets. Course, folks probably have a number of MT items already if they're interested in this bugger.

 

Well the proto in these pics looks like it has no paint at all, and Striker Manus has a handful of paint apps on the final product so I'd expect that on this as well. Whether that means painting all of the silver bits or not remains to be seen, but I do think that what we're looking at is missing its paint apps.

 

The alien aesthetics kinda reminds me of the design aesthetics for IDW's MTMTE Megatron

 

Fuck, I wasn't planning to get this guy, but I really dig that bot mode. If this keeps up, I'm going to wind up with the whole Cross Dimension line.

 

Painting all that area silver would likely jack the price up. Quality paint jobs . . .

Yeah most of the testshots we've seen are unpainted. He might still get a surface treatment to his plastic as well before he's done but i imagine it'll be subtle so he doesn't look out of place next to Striker etc.

 

The MakeToys aesthetic is an acquired taste.
