Well I guess these make a bit more sense now.
A couple months ago we some art of Alpha Trion, and a headmaster ship(that I'm told was designed after a ship from an anime.) posted before I think we knew about Alpha Trion's ship mode, and most assumed it was the rumored Broadside/Tidal Wave, Now it makes a little more sense. The ship design has been changed but the art also included a new an unknown Titanmaster who wasn't based off a pre-established. I'd post it but it was removed last time.

 

I've had a night's sleep here in the UK since I first saw this, where's my vehicle mode pictures?????

 

Fantastic. I hope that tidalwave either has the little Minicon jet OR the headmaster IS the little Minicon.

For Broadside, I'll be looking at ways to REMOVE the uneccessary Headmaster gimmick, of course.

 

I've put photos of Alpha Trion & Broadside together to do a parts comparison. The parts I'm sure are the same are circled in red - and obviously the corresponding part on the other side of the body



The green circle is parts I'm not 100% sure about - there's something very similar going on obviously with the flap on the side of the leg but I can't 100% tell if they're the same part.

Either way the lower legs are very similar so the resulting boat vehicle should have a front end similar to Alpha Trion's



The back of the vehicle, made from the torso, may look pretty different.

I wonder if those wings on Broadside's arms are going to do something runway in boat mode?

 

The entire lower leg is the same, they've just changed wolf legs for tailfins. Kinda like what they did with fort max from metroplex.

 

I'm not 100% convinced, I can't see the points where the wing hinges clip into on Alpha Trion.

 

Except they didn't, because you can see the sculpted in hinges of the tail fins don't exist on AT. The lower legs aren't entirely the same.

 

Thinking about it most of the top of the rear of the boat is the robot's back. That could well be the same, we just can't see it. The shoulder scream Tidal Wave so I'm guessing we're looking at two large structures stretching back from the sides like the original Tidal Wave

 

Yeah, I meant to say they transform the same, or that's what it looks like.

 

Given that the Transmission rumour mentioned Tidal Wave's/his carrier mode was inspired by the Joe's USS Flagg, I think it's likely you're right and the wings will add side extension to the original Central launch ramp of A3's space carrier making a more symmetrical and/or mirrored version of the Flagg's distinctive launch deck silhouette. I write this also as the wings appear to be painted a similar grey to the outside of his feet which would form the upper portion of the nose of his launch deck judging by A3's transformation.



I'm wondering if the detailing on his left arm means it actually forms the offset conning tower, or if it's a bit of faux detailing and the Tower/cockpit will be central as A3's is?

Broadside

At the risk of sounding dumb..... Here's my thoughts: I really wish he was not Voyager scale (but, unfortunately he's 'cowed' into it cuz he's a triple-changer). I would have really liked him at Leader class, but (and I know it's not feasible) I would have adored him at Titan Scale or something close so he matched up with gestalts/merged bot teams. He's an aircraft carrier for Pete's sake, so make him closer in size, pleeeeeaaaasse! Besides that, there's an episode in season 3 with him fighting Predaking AND Devastator (if memory serves me correctly). We'll just have to wait and see. But if he's the size he appears to be, this may be an easy pass..... Tidal Wave too. Voyager is just too tiny for a character of his 'stature'.

 

In the face of the evidence, saying that I agree is fairly elementary, perhaps. Still, the way the designers seem to cultivate a pool of parts that can then be reinterpreted in the context of a future project, does remind me somewhat of Lego. Of course in that case it's more about using a new context and one's imagination (if not a different colour of plastic) to reinterpret a piece designed as another specific thing. For these Transformers on the other hand, the objective seems to be building a pool of parts for the armature or frame, to which other parts that are probably more representative of a desired character can connect.

In any case, while this would have been at least as good as a Leader, TR Broadside already looks pretty great to me as it is! I'll be intrigued to see not only more of him and Tidal Wave, but how resourcefully made characters like the Clones, and maybe other Monsterbots, Headmaster Juniors and Targetmasters to name a few may turn out if we get them. As others have said, Horrorcons would be great too, I wouldn't mind if they even invented a new one, haha.

 

That's so fucking weird! Not even 2 wks ago I dreamt I found a Transformers Generations Armada Tidal Wave in the store. In my dream it waa Christmas time, I was in the inner city, & it waa in a Walgreens.  
(not that they sell voyagers but years ago thry didn't sell anything transformers)

Kinda like when I was 9.and I had a dream my dog waa gonna get killed that coming weekend and told my mom we can't leave to Florida thay the dog wouldn't be safe. BEGGED her to stay sure enough when we got home 5 days later Tyler waa ran over by the horse being trampled to death the poor puppy. Anyways ....

 

I can see that, I'm curious on the jet mode and would it look just as clunky as the original G1 toy.
