Dr K posted this video on GCI's FB page on July 8th. His workshop was flooded 3 times and their hardware was ruined. Insurance covered it, but it really screwed up their timeline.

It's too bad about the flooding. I appreciate that these guys are working to keep us updated as much as possible. I ordered Gulper back in March so I really look forward to hearing some updates.

 

Cancelling my preorder. Trying to get a refund now.

Got my shipping notice for the 2 rex hips armours a couple of days ago. Claws are still to come.

I am getting a little bit worried about Gulper. Seems no news here about him, plus I have sent messages on Facebook, emails and any other way I can find to contact GCI but have gotten no reply on any. I ordered Gulper on 01JUL, now its mid AUG and it says "out of stock" on him now. Would love to hear something.

I PM'd Dr K, he said FB isn't working right for him (on the GCI page). BadCube has reported similar problems. He said he replied to e-mails today. Check again, maybe it was after you came here to post.

EDIT: What e-mail did you send to? And did you include your TFW name in it? He said he couldn't find any from "Moonshot", including in junk mail in case of mis-sort.

EDIT 2: He thinks he found a message on FB, but no e-mail found.

 

Yeah I didnt put my TFW username it in, but I did get a reply on Facebook after posting here. Unfortunately it was just the same message we all know about on here repeated, about the flood with no ETA on Gulper. I emailed to the mail listed on the GCI page.

 

I just wonder why he won't log in here and let us know what's up  

He can reply to Facebook and emails - so why not jump on here? Ever since that incident went down, he's been completely MIA.

He's an awesome guy. Love his stuff. Super friendly - but with the amount of time that has passed, I think he should just issue a refund to everybody.

We could always put in another order in the future.

However this is a hard lesson learned for the lot of us. $45.00 is "a lot" of money to some people - especially when we don't see anything come of it for months on end.

 

I've certainly waited longer for something that cost me more to pre-order, but those were all with much larger stores, so I didn't have the trepidation that I do with this one.

I placed my order back in January anyway, so it's too late to get a refund from Paypal. I just have to hope that we do get this at some point, otherwise I'm out of pocket. I do think he means to still get these out, but circumstances have intervened in his life which has put this project on the back-burner, and may still do so for some time. I understand that these things happen, but we still need to hear something from the horses mouth.

 

He said that there should be an update by the end of the month on this and the bruticus upgrades. Anyone that doesn't want to wait any longer can contact him for cancelation and refund

 

I'm hoping there'll be some "overstock" so I can order mine once they're released.
Time being; I don't want to have $45 tied up into something when there are still things current I'm picking up. And seeing the non pre-order price; I'm comfortable with it to wait it out.
I have faith in the guy. Dealt with him once a couple years ago on the boards; he was definitely trustworthy then, I think he's still trustworthy now.
If it ever gets past the point of no return, I hope he will follow suit of Mach 5 and sell the design to Mech Ideas; at the very least; but I hope this is fruitful for him. I'd really like to see him tackle Rotorstorm next!

Wanted to chime in here,

Even when I worked with him, Dr K and I had the same philosophy about the money and he has always been upfront about the delays and understanding that some werent comfortable waiting that long and a refund is always available. All you have to do is ask.

45 bucks can be a lot for some, but trust me no one is getting rich of this hobby and no one is running off with anyones money. Dr K is a good friend and good people and I hate that life circumstances forced me to back away from the hobby. I know he has been through some tough times as well, but again refunds are always available.

Bless all of you that allowed my work to be a part of your collections and also for the patience and understanding exhibited. Hopefully one day I can come back to my hobby, but for now I'm just a spectator.

 

Advanced apologies to those thinking there was an update!

Just sent Dr. K an email requesting a refund on my preorder. Regardless of the difference in early bird and current pricing, the lack of clear direction and communication for this project has been disconcerting. I'm happy to preorder again in future, but only once progress can be demonstrated.

 

I am about to get to that point as well. The only reason I am waiting still is because I really want a sweet Guzzle figure, but my patience only goes so far. Hanging in there, barely, for now.

 

Kinda feeling the same. It's really frustrating not having any communication from Dr K. I know he had that YouTube video back in July, but his most recent Facebook post (Killingers Kustoms) appears to be Feb 22nd. I get that life happens, and I am sorry for his losses during the flooding and such, but there really needs to be some form of communication here. Five minutes to explain what stage this project is at, and if it's even still realistically going to be met at all. We are his supporters, and obviously fans of his work, but to get the cold shoulder is disrespectful....especially those of us that are still holding out hope for this figure.
