Hmm...too many proportions are off on this.

    Chest too small
    Abdomen too big
    Legs too wide

Nice pics. I wish there was a way for the arm canon to be shortned in bot mode. Also the upper chest plate seems to stick out a bit and the back of the forearms are rounded instead of a more square shape. Oh well. I guess you can't have it all. For me, anything is better than my super fragile Apollyon.

    Despotron is no CHUG.

Meh, whatefer. Chug-schmug. I love Hellfire.
And the best thing I've heard this week - If MP-10 was made today by 3rd Party, people would call it CHUGsterpiece. I'm starting to think that the more people call something a CHUGsterpiece, the more I'll like it.

I don't think anyone here is saying that it has to be exactly toon accurate, but bottom line is that this is a G1 mp representation of an iconic character and of all the things to screw up on, the head sculpt is going to catch the most flak.

Am I crazy or does this look like it has some chest dimpling as well?

This looks nice, and I love all the faces, but as far as aesthetic interpreting the G1 Megatron, I think Apollyon is still the standard bearer.

No doubt the quality of construction will be superior here, but I am going to have a hard time convincing myself to take Apollyon off his Season 1 Deception shelf and replace him with this.

Maybe I could put this on Season 2's shelf!?! LOL. That would be cheating.

I would get it for gun mode, but they are not including the extra G1 alt mode bits.

I may just get it to check it out in person anyways...

    EDIT: This does looks great.

Yes, and so does Mightron in certain areas. Both aren't as bad as Apollyon.

I found it less noticeable on Mightron, perhaps due to the more matte finish.

IMO, Apollyon looks good from the waist up but that's where it ends IMO. If it's not the unsightly gappy bowed legs, it's the exposed kibble in the inner legs, the inability to stand up traight without tipping over, or even worse how frail and loose the figure is. Looks alone won't cut it for me. Between this and the DX9 version, I'll just be glad to have a decent MP Megatron that I can actually transform, pose, and handle without any issues or worries. Looks and g1 toon/toy accuracy are certainly requirements for me just not the only ones. If so then I would look for an MP sized, non-transforming statue of Megatron.

    Haha.

I could make the same joke about some fantoys fans you know.

Like I said, if Despo isn't someones cup of tea he's now at a point where pretty much all complaints won't result in anything that can't be part of a future upgrade set.

They aren't going to change the legs.
They aren't going to change the proportions.
They aren't going to change his color palette.

If any of these things bother anyone - either accept that and get him anyway, or don't get him and wait for a potential alternative you prefer more. Simple as that.

To be fair I do shit talk my self in to my own argument holes. So its hardly anyones fault but my own when I get flak for my very aggressive opinions.

This certainly has those trademark Maketoys MP fists. I'm just giddy over the prospect of finally having an MP sized Megatron that I can fully pose, transform, and handle without fear of anything falling off or breaking unlike my Apollyon.

That's a mighty fine Megatron right there.

If I still collected MPs, this would be the Megs for me.

Everything looks better in the color photos, except that face sculpt. His eyes look like they're squinting. The face sculpt could be sooooo much better than this.

Yeah I'm in. The only thing that would stop me is Fanstoys announcing their own Megatron at this point.
