Even for a Bayverse design this is absolute trash, but I think it's mostly the head for me. Looks like the T-800

 

Reminds me of a lot of things, none of which are Transformers.

 

But that was Megatron "reincarnated" they made that pretty clear too especially since he claimed to have "returned" by the end of the film. Sure, he doesn't have a spark but he has a functioning, transforming body with a core that can power it, fused with Megatron's personality. Cybertronian origin or not Galavatron was Megatron.

Anyway, I find the most interesting detail to be the skirt because it's the strongest hint as to what his alt mode will be. Something with wings seems most likely. I don't think he's the Dragon though, the visual design are too different and Megatron doesn't seem to be made up of enough parts. I could be wrong. He could be a dragon though but, he could just as well become a jet.

 

You just do not get it. Galvatron is effectively a clone. It has all of Megatron's memories and thoughts and feelings. From its perspective, it feels like it's Megatron. It thinks of itself as Megatron. But the existence of a clone copy doesn't replace the original, which still exists separately.

It was not fused with Megatron's personality. It was fused with an uploaded data COPY of Megatron's personality.

 

Technically Animated Starscream also had no spark while being driven by an Allspark fragment. And as others have said Galvatron gladly called himself Galvatron, almost like he was spiting the humans for the name by adopting it.
Someone mentioned the arm cannon; ROTF Megatron did it first.
This could be the head itself revived, it could be a case of Super Megatron, it could be Megaplex, or, being something from Bay, it could be an elaborate ruse and a total lie.

It was infused with Megatron's "evil nasty chromosomes" which can easily carry his personality if the writers so desire.

 

He looks like one of the no-name drones, just like Barricade.

Oh, and a little like the Dinobots.

Unfortunately, not my taste.

 

Or not, apparently, if the writers want to have Megatron and Galvatron be two separate characters, as looks might be the case.

But it's amazing to me, the number of people who can't differentiate between personality and consciousness. He has Megatron's personality! He has Megatron's memories! Who cares, if he doesn't also have Megatron's actual, original consciousness? Which he can't, since Galvatron does not have a spark.

 

This is a really cool design.

PLEASE no Cybertronian alt form. I've had enough of that from the movie Megatrons.

 

I have mixed feelings on that look.

The AOE designs sought to make the robots look more human-like, with accouterments and features (Crosshairs' duster and stubble, bulky Hound's army gear, Drift's samurai armor), but this IMO took away their alien robot look and their capability of transforming (which we never really saw work out in AOE, eg Lockdown).

This Megatron design suffers the same issue: he looks more human than he should be and appears to be wearing just armor.


I thought the past three films made Megatron look seriously badass. My favourite film design is his tank mode from ROTF:



Trying to smooth out the designs and give them human looks does not really work out well in my opinion. The film Transformers are made of metal parts that can twist and move around to become vehicles/crafts/etc, and their designs should represent that.

And as others have mentioned, the designs homage Ultron and TFP Megatron too similarly for comfort.

(And on a personal note, I miss Megatron's jagged crown, it made him look like a real leader in my opinion. This rounded look makes him look like film Starscream - which may have been deliberate, because Starscream's head design was originally meant for Megatron)


On the plus side, Megatron's return to Decepticon leadership is long overdue. And that dragon head on his shoulder looks very promising, I think he will have a beast mode and here's hoping it's really badass.

 

Holy shit he even has horns! I like that!

If Galvatron is just clone, Megatron will be ressurrected again? What a lame.

This is easily the best Megatron design to come down the pipe in a long time.
