This figure is amazingly well done. I agree that it's the best MP since Wheeljack.

Do we know who the designer is? I'm guessing everyone thinks it's koboyashi, but could it be a stand-in like the designer hot-rod had?

I can't switch to the BW MPs, I'm G1 only so far. It's great for the BW fans, this is major fan swag for that show. I've already been through my BW collecting phase, when the figures where first released. I had every BW and BM released, short of something like 5 figures, before I decided to sell everything off. I can't go back down that collecting BW road after that ride.

Now that we know the price for Cheetor, that helps a bit on the prices for the others.

 

The hind legs in beast mode aren't super attractive with the bot mode kibble (not unexpected), but I don't plan to have him in anything but bot mode, so not particularly bothered.

I think the only way they'd get the beast mode hind legs looking perfect would be an extra set of cheetah legs, minus the bot stuff.

 

The paint jobs these BW MPs are getting are just insane.

 

I don't collect Masterpiece, but wow is this tempting me!

With seeing pics online they do share some parts so to speak.......

 

I think if he had electronics a) we'd know about it by now and b)it would be a tad more expensive. More likely its something to do with storage in cheetah mode.

 

With the exception of the feet hanging off the back in beast mode, this is a work of art.

 

Perhaps I got a little carried away on the speculation train. it just struck me as odd.

 

Why is this one so expensive? Is he that much more involved than the cars???

 

What prices are you seeing? Cheetor is actually cheaper in price compared to the carbots. I paid more for my MP Wheeljack figure. I got it off of BBTS, but the prices of the MP carbots are pretty consistent on the sites.

 

What are you talking about? Cheetor has literally the exact same MSRP as Road Rage, 7000¥.

You may be paying more now overall because the Yen is stronger but that has nothing to do with the price of the figure, the conversation rate is what makes the difference.

 

I'd say it's possible. Road Rage received a bit of retooling when compared to her predecessor Tracks. Course, there was also a Red Bumblebee that wasn't even called Cliffjumper because they didn't or couldn't retool the car shell into the appropriate alt mode... so.... hrm....

 

It wasn't called cliffjumper because g1 bumblebee and cliffjumper weren't the same mold, they weren't even remolds of each other, they had what hasbro is currently calling shared engineering. When mp cliffjumper happens, he will be a new mold.

 

I am betting it is simply a transformation joint. Much like some of the MP cars have handles that fold down on the weapons, I am guessing that maybe the fur/skin folds down to allow the handle to fold out, before being returned to the original position.

Or maybe it unfolds to reveal some yet unseen sculpted detail? Many other MPs have had "easter eggs"-- Wheeljack's mustache, Magnus' inner face, Ironhide's windsheild-toy-face, etc.
Can anyone recall a time when Cheetor opened the gut gun onscreen?

 

Is there anyone who hasn't placed their order yet for Cheetor? I'm just wondering if I'm not the only one.
