I actually liked it... Not all of it...but there is definite potential there. I'm an 80s kid and can recall when everything didn't have super expensive cgi. Done correctly, one can still make an exciting show using these means.
I'd always wanted a traditional cell anime for transformers along the lines of the animated movie or gundam.

 

Well hopefully the writers where smart enough to see that having had these things happen to here is not a valid reason to make her a character with only one emo-tion.

Also, hard to spoil it when nothing really happens. A summary of the events is exactly like watching it, considering how little depth or flair it has. I'd wager your imagination could come up with a better episode than what we got.

So I watched the first episode of this on Go90. Mind you, due to the word on the grapevine, I went in with very low expectations of this series (note: I say low, not negative).

After watching this. My low expectation quickly turned to a very negative one -

5 minute episode (fucking hate that. If it's not like Clone Wars, don't bother doing shorts)

Animation was decent as were the fighting scenes (except when they repeated the sequence too many times).

If the first episode is any indication of how this series will be, it is sadly, and disappointingly, terri-bad.

Maybe they should of hired Genndy Tartakovsky to handle this series akin to how he did with the Clone Wars shorts.

 

Considering they're aiming this at G1 fans, I don't necessarily feel like the style would fit.

I still would want to see it, I just fear fan backlash.

 

If you are in a place that blocks youtube and all the other places around the internet it's been posted, what do you expect us to talk about in this thread for the next 9 months while you wait for the dvd?

What? Dude, I'm not unable to watch youTube EVER. Just not in the last 24 hours or so since the episode was released.
Two things to consider:
1) the episode hasn't been out for more than a day. Give people time.
2) I'm probably not the only one who hasn't seen it.

And look I'm not looking to form a lynch mob here. I just said it so that maybe people will think about it for next time. So let's not derail this thread any further.

The way they portrayed Wingblade (?) is dangerously close to a Mary Sue.

Is it me or are franchises that used to be 'boys' toys' being feminised?First it was Star Wars Episode VII, then its the Ghost Busters and now we have a seemingly lead female character in TF? What are the companies going to do next...give Ken the 'spot-light' in Barbie and encourage boys to play the toys? X)
