I am not a movie hater but really you could pick any random movie figure and give it the title ugliest transformer. They were made to a style and it wasn't a pretty one.
I'd say Beast Machines Maximals were the ugliest transformers toys. I mean look at some of these things: Of course, the movie toys are a close second.
Still looks better than Beast Wars Sonar to me. Now that's easily my least favorite figure of the series. But to me the ugliest are the movie twins. Cool alt modes, but damn their faces look likely were assaulted by a train.
I think the ROTF figures (aside from the faces) actually had some pretty decent designs. The actual characters on the other hand, I could do without. G1 Ironhide/Ratchet would be up there for me. The movie figure that the OP posted is also a debacle IMO, just a strange figure. Current figures, almost all of the recent attempts at the G1 tapes (outside of eject and the tank F/R from a few years ago) haven't done much for me. Had no interest in the data disks, and the new Stripes and Lazerbeak are goofy to me. CW Optimus also does nothing for me.
I have a soft spot for Blackarachnia but then again I own the mold as Crystal Widow who's colors look much nicer.In general those colors are pretty aweful but Blackarachnia's bladed hands with two fingers look actually looks kinda cool and better than her animation model.
Call me crazy if you must, but I actually liked Sonar's design, to me she was one of the better TransMetal 2s. An example of an alien-looking Transformer done right. Beast Machines had designs that were either awkwardly proportioned (Primal, Cheetor), ugly (Silverbolt and Nightscream) or outright stupid (Rattrap).
Have to agree with that. I was expecting them to release them again as different characters with new, hopefully better, heads, which I probably would have bought. Unfortunately, though, the twins themselves were (imo) just too repulsive to add to my collection.

Any Bayformer except Wreckage. Most/All Beast Machines except Tankor. Retrax, Injector, Armordillo, Wolfang, Polar Claw, TM2 Cheetor and Dinobot and quite a number of other less than fantastic Beast Wars dudes - and I like Beast Wars. A lot. Any of the Armada Bricks. Quite a few G1 Toy designs. Too many to list. Way too many. That's enough Ugly to be going on with so you pick one from that pile. It's another positive for me that aesthetically the Generations Toys are getting better with time, not worse.
