^Well, that just did it for me. I definitely want the US version and PE kit, now.

 

Looks very nice, wish I ordered him through TCP now...

 

Eh. After looking at the in-hand shots of Strafe, I actually don't want him anymore. He was the only thing I wanted out of this set, and now I don't want any of it.

If the wings didn't stick up so high in any of his limb modes, I'd be down, but as it is, they look abso-fucking-lutely ridiculous.

 

I think it's hilarious how the Machinima show version has the PE upgrade chest further proving my theory that Hasbro and PE are working together

 

Other then having the default toy head, the show's Scattershot model was the G1 toy's straight down to the cannon on the back.

 

I'll skip reposting my review of this which I did for a friend, since other posters have hit the salient points already.

That said - once I get the PE-11 set, I'm rather happy with Hasbro's version. Absolutely, I agree that the leg-bots and the combined mode suffer for a lack of new headsculpts, but otherwise? I'm happy.

(Although if Shapeways or someone else wants to tackle the Lightspeed and Nosecone heads, let me know.)

What made me decide against Takara? Simple:

Scrounge.   My 11-year-old self is grinning like a maniac.  

 

I see some people have this already, but I don't see it for sale anywhere. When is the Hasbro version coming out?

 

Meh, once again I have zero love for the PE Feet, way too big to me, the new Hasbro feet look much better than they do. The new chest does nothing for the colors on the rest of them.

Had this looked like the CW webisode Computron, I'd be buying it and the Takara...but as it is...nope. Afterburner was correctly colored IMO in the scene.

 

That's what I've been saying about the forearm wings. All previous pics showed the forearms turned so the wings weren't up top. They should have made it so they fold down too. People had said about how far Takaras Nosecone drill sticks out in leg mode...well, this is the arm equivalent. Plus the drill won't stick out any farther than Groove's front wheel in leg mode. For a forearm...that's too much sticking up.

Originally Machinima Computron design was based on the classic G1 toy;
when I started collaborating on that project, one of my tasks was to revise the (already existing) design "updating" him with the new Combiner Wars limbs.
For some reason the torso remained the same, even if in the final version he got a mouthplate, like the CW toy (I only worked on the preliminary 2D sketches, not the 3D models).

Interesting. Had no idea you worked on this. Maybe the torso was already modelled and they didn't have time to change it before moving onto the limbs?

What's less hilarious is that
1 firearms do no damage at all, but a combiner can rip an equally big combiner to pieces apparently.
2 Computron got his ass handed to him by a fanfav
3 he's probably dead now, so any hopes for him getting some much needed character development - let alone for the individual bots - is down the drain

 

Got mine yesterday.

I really like it. Granted I wanted to get it early as I won't like it nearly as much once I get Takara's version.

It is really nice on it's own though. Everything is solid and very tight. The new feet and hands are nice too.

I got mine in as well. LOVE the hands and feet. I want more like this. 3rd parties, we don't all need articulated fingers. Just a nice fist that fits into some hollowed out feet.

Also, I have everyone but Afterburner and Scrounge for sale if anyone wants some of these guys for cheap!

 

Oh man, can I get your Strafe? We still have a deal going on or what? Lol.

 

Don't know, but that sounds plausible.
