No, the first episode turned out to be pretty bad. If it continues the same way though, then the entire series will turn out pretty bad.

Yeah, Windblade is the biggest non-character to grace the Transformers in a while. This whole thing was a major letdown. The animation was nice, but the voice-acting was obviously low-budget, Menasor's voice totally doesn't fit, the dialogue was extremely cheesy, and they killed off 2 combiners in the first 2 minutes...

 

Me neither. I fear this is going to become TF:Windblade and some Combiners.

 

Wow, that was really bad. On every objective level.

Like, the type of bad that's best left off of resumes.

Also, if Hasbro wants everyone to love Windblade so much they really should make a toy of her that's actually good.

 

I dont really get the story of this, why arent they fighting on Cybertron and whats up with creating combiners?
Is this like a sequel to a comic or something like that?

No, no it's not. It's heavily based on IDW's Combiner Wars/RID stuff for sure, but is its own thing. You need to watch the hastily put together preludes for some backstory as they're designed to fill in the blanks a lot of people are missing.

 

Alot of people on the official tf fb page dont like it.

I imagine the US is blocked because of the go90 exclusivity deal, Japan will probably get something later c/o Takara Tomy and China is either meant to get their own thing, or maybe Machinima is just censored there.

 

anyone else getting audio skipping and frames freezing while watching this? good lord the quality sucks, did they hype this and put it together at the half minute cause thats what i am looking at

Windblades pretty much the only good thing about the first episode: holy hellblade, she just slaughtered Menasor !!!
I had hoped Computron would at least get to do something, but it seems the producers thought he would best be served by falling from the sky, talking nonsense and being killed.
Menasor sounded... idiotic, really not a good voice for him.
All in all kinda what i had expected, Windblade does robot banshee from hell pretty good, so i like to follow her arc, but it doesnt seem this show will have much more going for it.

 

No character development.
No respect for logic.
Inappropriate voice acting.
No sense of narrative.

Wasn't this supposed to be the Transformers animated fiction for adults? Prime was practically "grad school" compared to this "grade school" fluff.

 

Just watched this first episode and, in a word, it was...meh. The animation was ok, nothing stellar. Horrible acting - glad I am not the only one that disliked Menasor's, voice. There were no real stakes as we're dumped into the middle of the action and quickly given the death of a character that we see for all of thirty seconds. Not a lot of emotional weight to that. Also, we all know both Computron and Menasor will most likely be rebuilt. It really feels like nothing happened in this episode.

 

Don't use Hola, it sells your bandwidth and could be unsafe.

That was pretty embarrassing.

The animation was incredibly choppy and unappealing, the voice acting was beyond amateurish, and there was a complete lack of interesting direction and storytelling.

I mean seriously, we just get right into a fight with no setup or a sense of stakes at all? A character we barely know at all dies? If a combiner can be taken out by two normal-sized transformers working together, are they really that huge of a threat?

I liked the character models and the soundtrack, I'll give it that. I'm struggling to think of any other positives to glean from this.

 

The sole purpose of Transformers is to sell toys. They had a successful Combiner Wars toyline and are playing off that. It's as if you don't understand the basic premise of media use by Hasbro. This all started by giving existing toys a background to further sell them and hence the franchise was born. Comics are the exception since they are their own revenue stream.
