Humm in not sure I get the concept of this poll but can I vote none? I've never really been a fan of combiners.

 

I voted for the G1 teams, a set of Maximals, and G1 Dinobots.

Predaking might have to be a box set. Divebomb's wingpack would make him too large/expensive for a standard Deluxe, and I doubt they'd sell a tem of 2 Voyagers and 3 Deluxes. When I first saw the HFGs on Superion and Menasor, i figured that design was going to work great for Tantrum and Headstrong. I was surprised and dissapointed to find out they wren't coming.

The BW Maximals could be a straight redo of the G1 Predacons: Tigatron as the torso, Cheetor, Airrazor, Longhorn, and Rhinox as limbs. The combined form could be Tigerhawk.

A G1 dinbot combiner could work. Make the combined form BW Dinobot so nobody thinks of it as the Beast. And, make Sludge the torso so the dino modes aren't as out-of-scale with each other. It goes against the norm of team leaders as torso, but that could be explained in the bio. "Grimlock would only consent to the combiner process if he still got to punch and kick stuff." Grimlock could be a Rippersnapper retool. Maybe Sludge could be Snaptrap with a longer beast neck.

The Divebomb/Swoop/Airrazor mold could be retooled with smaller wings attached to the torso instead of the wingpack to serve as Cutthroat and Wildfly, as regular Deluxes. Replace Tentakill's beast legs with claws, flip him on his back, and he could become Nautilator, leaving Seawing as the weapon. Though, I'd prefer a 5th Deluxe in that team to match the original idea of anyone forming the weapon. Maybe have an update of the G1 weapon stand for Piranaking to man if weight's an issue.

Oh, Abominus, absolutely. The one awkward omission from Combiner Wars, for me, was a lack of Terrorcons (it's a weird desire for "balance" among the combiners - Superion? Need Menasor - and so on  

(I've got nothing against Liokaiser, but I have to agree with the folks who are upset about his execution. Sky Lynx as a remold is ... difficult, at best, and Deathsaurus isn't part of Liokaiser. He's Liokaiser's boss.)

Sorry for the digression - I'd like to see some CW beastformers as well, but they have to be done well. At the same time, if we can get a Predaking that doesn't require a small loan to afford, it'd be nice.  

 

When we get to the next round and figure out the torso bots, I'll be making this argument, too (although as thread starter I won't push my thumb too far on the scale). The counter argument might be BW Megatron as a retool of Grimlock makes more sense. We'll see what everyone thinks, but I get kind of bored w/Grimlock as the torso.

 

Agree completely. Feral Rex does his job well on my shelf. I'd love a good looking Abominus (as I don't want to shell out for the Unique Toys Ordin when I only like the look of their Troll).

A Piranacon and Monstructor would be instant grabs for me as long as they looked good and didn't pull a Liokaizer and omit a member or replace a member. I require original team members.

Also, I know this discussion is geared towards beast combiners, but man, does anyone else really wish the Trainbots would have been released in Combiner Wars? In my head it seems simple to use the basic combining tech from CW Devastator to make Raiden. Maybe I'm way off about that though.

 

Dont know if I could get behind the Trainbots or not. Id much rather have them than a lot of the other options on the list but the Japanese names annoy the shit out of me (and I dont know if or how many even translate in to English)

 

Hasbro can rename them. There was a thread on this site that was all about what the Trainbots should be renamed for an American release. Takara could always keep the original names for the true purists out there.

 

Cringe. Different title but neat idea . Feels awkward sequeling out CW and saying Beast Combiners. Just call it "Battle of the Packs"

 

The names would translate into mundane compound word names. Off the bat Yukikaze would be "Snow Wind" and one could localize as something like "Snowstorm" or as TFwikitranslates it, "Snowy Breeze" (silly as that sounds). Personally I'm happy with the Japanese names if for no other reason than it breaks the monotony of most names being in English (Rapido's another good one).
Nothing beats Deszaras which on it's own sounds like a unique name if you don't try to arbitrarily make words out of it.
As far as Beast Combiners go I'm up for all the G1 originals, especially King Posseidon/Piranacon (who'd instantly have an extra member as wll. I do want to make Super Scramble 7 in updated form.
Pretenders (Monstructor/Dinoking) I don't believe had beast alt modes so much as shells so I actually regret voting for them. I would not MIND the Energon Terrorcons combining but I can't dissacociate them with being essenitally Scout figures.
I'd be up for some other Decepticon beast combiners though just to even out the Autobots dominance.

 

I'll be happy getting whatever is released as long as it is CW compatible, that includes a non-titan Predaking.

I would like to see a couple of brand new combiners such as a Swarm made up of the Deluxe Insecticons as limbs and maybe Manterror as the Voyager. A preying mantis would make a logical remold of Hun-Grrr as would Sea Clamp.

For the Bot side maybe a reshelling of Snaptrap as Torca, he can even be like Cyclonus and not have a dedicated team since he would be epic no matter the limb bots used.

If we do happen to get Predaking, one thing lingers: will he be taller than Devastator or shorter, and more of a normal CW size?

 

Even though this is WIP, you forgot that Dinoking, Monstructor, King Neptune, and Piranacon all have six members, although with the new "weapon" factor with each combiner may make it 6-7 members for each combiner, anyway.  

 

I'd just like to see the Terrorcons, Seacons, Predacons and Monstructor get proper updates. If Monstructor gets a pass, I'd be okay with that. But the first three need an update.

And no, no Dinobot combiners, please.

If Hasbro needs Autobot combiners to balance, just do Raiden already and repaint the toy into Sixtrain. Yeah, yeah, trains don't sell in the U.S. But considering they'd be part of the "collectors" line AND they're a combiner, I'm sure they'd sell just fine to the collector community.

 

Predaking and Abominus. I personally don't want Dinobot Combiners.

 

YES ! To every thing .... minus a dinobot combiner , unless it`s an all new set of new bots and not just Grimlock, slag , slug , snarl and swoop ... I personally would love it if we got a brand new gestalt that was a sub-group of some sort of Animals . , Be they mythical creatures , monsters or just a mix of randomness that colide in to one super crazy awesome bot - I`m all about Decepticons ... but we need an animal sub-group of Autobots to balance out Abominus , Predaking , Piranacon , monstructor .... We all so need a new Decepticon sub-group that isn`t animal based ... I have all ways wanted a Space themed decepticon combiner ... like a moon rover , satellites , space station / launch pad / docking bay ect , deep space cruiser , Hover craft of some kind , shuttle , a UFO , a space exploration vehicle - any combination of these or other ... but It would be super neat if it was space themed and had 6 members that combined like Devastator ...The Spacecons / lunacons / Galacticons / Cosmocons / Infinicons / Nebucons ?... N E way ... Some thing NEW , Some thing fresh .....I`d eat it up ...lol

 

Yes, yes to every damn one cos it seems to fill out a line which it needs to do and cos even if I don't want a dinobot combiner it doesn't hurt me if one exists, hell I didn't want a Optimus Prime combiner, or a Galvatron one but their existence did change how I feel about either character so bring them all on I say.

 

Give me Abominus.
