I love all the changes. It's trying to do something new without becoming unrecognizable.

As for the new Alolan Form Pokemon leaks, I hate them. Well, not all of them, half of them. The Fighting type is getting way too overexposed at this point, and being tacked on in areas where it shouldn't be. Also the fact that they're all Gen 1 mons is making me shake my head.

I'm a fan of the changes too. They've gone 20 years with the standard 8 gyms e4 champion shtick; it's nice to see something different.

I wouldn't have minded if the Trial captains took the place of the elite four, but not a fan of them replacing Gym leaders; now we'll never have a Dark-type one.

Oh shit, doesn't this announcement pretty much confirm this whole set of rumors as legit?

Again, please let "Only 90" be wrong...

More and more of those spoiled rumors are proving true.

Now, as for the new info, all I have to say is "awesome!" The Alola Forms are something that have been a long time coming, providing an alternative way to look at older Pokemon, and to implement ideas that may not merit their own designs (Vulpix as an arctic fox, fore example). If we get new spins on older Pokemon, I don't mind if we get fewer Pokemon per generation, simply because we have so damn many of them as it is.

You know, I'm wondering if the focus on Megas and perhaps even Regional Variants on Kanto Pokemon have anything to do with pleasing or attracting Genwunners into playing new games and gens.

Played some more Pokemon Go, finally caught a Jigglypuff and evolved an Oddish into Gloom too. Finally got more Poke Balls too.

Also went to Gamestop to get the Arceus code, they had a sale on Pokemon stuff. Grabbed a Master Ball that held a PVC Arceus and a Darkrai T-Shirt, pretty good.

I'm happy the way Scyther is currently if he is in this game. Unless they make Scizor Blue.

I think the best news of all the new info is that they are finally getting rid of HMS...FINALLY!!! No longer do we have to waste move slots on shit attacks. No longer do we have to reserve a team slot for a HM slave.

He was an American novelist. He wrote a novel called Cats Cradle, which featured a destructive form of ice known as Ice Nine.

I'm actually sort of glad we're ditching "gyms" in the conventional sense. Obviously we'll get something similar to badges to show our progress and have pokemon obey us at higher levels, but it's refreshing to have them implemented differently.

a correction: Alola form Exeggutor is the SECOND grass/dragon type pokémon. the first is Mega Sceptile.

Alola form Sandshrew/Sandslash are the first ice/steel type pokémon and Alola form Ninetales is the first Ice/Fairy type pokémon.

I don't think anyone is going to lament the loss of most of the HMs, but they might with Surf. I could see it being ditched to stop it from being as ubiquitous as it always was, but more likely I suspect it returns as a TM or a move tutor will teach it. It's Gen 7, so the TM list is probably changing again anyway. Plus there will always be the mons from Gen 1 VC and 3-6 that have learned it.

but pokémon with the move Surf in their moveset can not be sent from one gen to the next. hm moves have to be deleted first. i don't know much of the Gen 1 VC
    games.

but it would be great if it becomes a tm or having a move tutor teach the attack to a pokémon.

I am warming to the new forms and retyping of some older pokemon even Exeggutor. it is doubtful i will use it as i plan to use the grass starter unless something is revealed to change my mind.
