If I were going to get them, I would go MMC for Trailbreaker, and Badcube for Hoist. MMC's figure has that really nice slim figure I associate with Trailbreaker, while Badcube's figure has the short, stocky build that I associate with Hoist.

I'll wait for Takara (or another 3rd party).

I really like the look of Terraegis but the lack of a flat surface on the chest for a faction symbol sticker ruins it for me.

I voted the same. It's not that either figure is bad, but neither wows me either. I know both figures are a getting a lot of praise, but I feel there is a more definitive version still on the proverbial horizon and I think I'm willing to wait for it.

If I had to choose between the two I'd definitely go MMC. It just seems much better proportioned, with a cleaner look (much less kibble and put together better), and much better legs. The face sculpt on the BadCube figure is better and the finish might be, but it's not enough to overcome the overall superior look/build of the MMC figure.

This. MMC's TB is slightly more show-accurate in robot mode (with the second set of red bands around his knees) and I like the way his upper thighs look better, although I like the way BC's articulates better, with the 'kneepad' actually being a kneecap and both the thigh and lower leg being jointed to it. It's also $10 cheaper!

BadCube's Hoist, however, is FAR more show-accurate in robot mode, with the cylindrical legs and all. He also has a 'perfect' transformation that achieves the iconic 'toy' look of his arms without partsforming.

Leaning towards Badcube because I like the face/head, truck mode and I know the build quality will be exceptional, but I really wanna see what Takara has up there sleeve.

My post from the Oc Max thread. Still sums up my choice.
    --------

The comparison pics really are not even close in my eyes. MMCs looks great while BC's looks like it has a lot of rough areas that need clean up before the final release.

I would prefer to have one of each mold/version so trailblazer and hoist don't feel like copies. I'm not sure I can go with BC's current showing. That plus most of my BC figures are a real pain to transform may keep me with MMC for both figures.

FYI, the green parts aren't actually parts-forming.

MMC made a post about it on their Facebook page. It's part of the transformation but can be detached if desired. I'm guessing they fold underneath the vehicle since the actual vehicle sides become the back of the legs for both.

I'm going with MMC for Trailbreaker because it looks more animation accurate in bot mode. I do like BadCube face sculpt better.

Leaning towards Badcube at the moment. I like the face better and looking at him next to Ironhide he looks like a better match. However I'd like to see a side on version of Badcube Trailbreaker to see how far the chest sticks out. Video reviews soon please!

Well, oddly enough I like MMC Trailbreaker slightly better but BadCube has a much better Hoist. I wouldn't want to mix and match I don't think, so I will probably go BadCube.

That is assuming TakaraTomy doesn't get to these characters though, which it is pretty certain they will.

BC's silver paint on the arms and legs looks better than the whitish-gray on MMC's. So i guess I like BC so far.

I forgot to mention that I like Badcube's height is closer to Ironhide's height.

    BadCube for me.

Yes, MMC's legs are nicer, but I'm not buying a Trailbreaker for his gams, dammit! :)

In all honesty, there are areas where BadCube's more cartoon accurate as well, especially the head, but also the shoulder cannon, waist and "crotchal region". Arms are about the same, but I like the more silvery grey than MMC's choice of colour, here.

The chest is up for debate. Yes, MMC has that tapered look going down to the waist, but while it looks decent here, it's rather wonky from other angles, especially head on. And the height is a factor too - I'd rather have a taller robot than not, though to be fair, MMC's isn't exactly short.

I will be honest here and say that brand loyalty did play a small part, too. I've got most of BadCube's past offerings, so I trust the quality will be good. I'm sure MMC's will be, too, but I've passed on all their MP-style offerings save Jaguar. Even Sphinx looked a tad off to me, and I'd love to see FansToys or BadCube show us their take on the character, too.

Overall, though, you really can't go wrong with either choice. I could, of course, see Takara doing an official version but I'm not convinced it'll be better at this point than either BadCube or MMC.

I'll wait for Takara's. But of these two, MMC's would be the one I'd go for.

Same here. I think both of these look great, but I'm going to wait to see what TT offers up. Not that I think they'll do better, I just want to make sure I review all of my options before making the purchase.

I like TB and Hoist, but they're not must-haves for me at the moment. If this were Jazz or Megs, I may bite on designs this good.

Man, with every new 3P release, people think Takara's must be around the corner also.

How's that Meg's 2.0 and Galvatron coming along? Took Takara like 3 and a half years to address their Shockwave issue, and once they did, they delivered us a lackluster, tiny, lilac colored individual who looks like he'd rather be out picking flowers, than fighting Autobots.

I'm in my 30's. I don't want to wait 5 years for a maybe-release from Takara. I most definitely don't care about their tramp stamp on the box either. So even if they did do these guys, who's to say it won't turn out like Tracks, Shockwave and to a lesser extent, Hot Rod?

I agree that it doesn't, but Takara's tend to be extremely cartoon accurate, which is important to me. And they have great accessories.
