Sometimes there's not enough room at home. Sometimes we just want to liven up the workspace. Do you have a small collection at work? If so, post your setup!
Do I have a small collection at work? No. I have ALL my transformers are at work (~70, I believe.) It's getting to the point where I do need to start bringing some home, or boxing them up - I'm running out of space to put them out.
This used to be my collection Then I added a MP G2 Sideswipe. Since then I started working at a company which does hot desking so I've had to stop
I always have a few at work with me. Some (like new ones or favorites) stay for a while, while others get rotated. I like having something on my desk to fiddle with when I need a mental break. Right now I have, among other things,: Titans Return SDCC Deluxe Brainstorm, RID Battle Pack Strongarm, Titans Return Wheelie, and SDCC TMNT Mega Blok figures.
Every once and a while, I take some in. I used to display my masterpiece Seekers, but they invited way too much co-worker fiddling for my taste. I took them home before anyone had a chance to break them lol.
True story a coworker once brought her 12 year old son in to work one time... Naturally, I was excited to show him some of my toys. Proudly I showed off my Macross VF-1S 1/55 Bandai reissue Valkyrie. Before I could even say a word and without asking, he grabs it and says "oh let me see if I can transform this" and begins fiddling (really not knowing what he was doing). I think I lasted about 5 seconds before I said "here let me help you with that" and firmly took it out of his unsteady and unsure hands.
Sure do. I'll have to post a picture eventually. I just got settled into my new office at work too (after moving to Japan). I have Engineer General (3rd party non-transforming but articulated Devastator); a custom little Revoltech Starscream (made from ROTF movieverse Starscream keychain figure); an RPMs, Robot Replica, and Fast Action Battler Barricade and Frenzy, and I might take my extra Masterpiece Exhaust and Starscream to work as well. After I build my Kotobukiya model kits of SD/chibi Optimus, Megatron, and the Seekers, I may bring those in also.
Sadly no. The business I work in is too conservative for having them out, so instead I have fossils, photos, and random abstrat artwork. I do usually keep a legends or a minibot in my desk to fiddle with when I'm working though.
I have some Decepticon Mini-Figurines and .... I am probably going to take some MPs in soon. I have a creative type job with an office.
Always. I rotate out parts of my collection to bring with me and to bring back home with me. My boss thinks their pretty awesome, but doesn't fiddle too much. The intern on the other hand will spend some time here and there playing with them. Only complaint I had was from one mid-fifties female coworker who walked by and saw one day a larger part I brought that usually wouldn't be there and couldn't figure out why a grown man played with toys. She and I get along great, so no hard feelings. I definitely think it helps take my mind off things by being able to transform them back and forth.
That transforming optimus prime pen figure might make a good candidate. You can use it for work, heh.
I used to.... until last year when the then-new administrator decided that she didn't want our work areas to have any personal things.
I've brought my MPs to work one by one to show them off, but never left them overnight. Plenty of interest from coworkers. I've even been surprised by the interest from apparently "too serious" coworkers. I've thought about keeping some there, but I move too much and I seldom have time to fiddle with my hands.
I used to have some at work. Mainly the deluxe Optimus from that Classics 2-Pack with DVD that was re-released several times over sans DVD and a couple of different Ratchets. I also had a mini TFTM 86 movie poster on the cubicle wall. Then we started playing musical cubicles about every 2-3 weeks and then having to share space and I decided to just take everything home.
I have a *few* things on my desk... (Sorry for the crummy pics - not at work today, so I just had to look through my phone to find images that I've taken before. Not quite the current set-up, but it give the idea.) The rule is, no toys on my desk that cost me more than $5 each. The vast majority cost me $2 or less, but the new Titan Masters just made it at $5 apiece. A lot of what is on my desk were extra figures from eBay lots that I picked up. I'd want, say, three or four of the figures in the lot, but there would be some extra "junk" thrown in. I had a lot of these kinds of things, and I had a problem with folks moving my computer monitor. So, I started putting figures around it to dissuade people from moving the monitor, since it would disrupt the figures... and it worked. I kept bringing in figures, and now folks are very hesitant to use my computer at all when I'm not around, for fear of knocking things down. Sure, with the mini-bots and Spy Changers on my desk, it looks a bit like a traffic jam, but they have fulfilled their primary purpose, and when I get stressed at work, it is fun to fiddle with the toys.
yes; i was in the military and had movie Bonecrusher on my desk (another guy had Brawl and Jazz). then i went to Iraq and left big Bonecrusher behind but got the legends pack with little Bonecrusher and Jazz. Jazz has helped a lot with relieving stress of people coming through my office since he is hard to transform. he has a lot of stress marks so it may be time to get a new one (or two). i also have some Star Wars, Legos and the little Darryl that came with one of The Walking Dead DVD's. -
I use to leave them to my desk. - the first time I left one. At the time, my only one. One of my co-workers played with it without care and scratched up the paint on the Subaru mold. - don't want to let anyone see me dusting at work. Now I try to bring a different one everyday so I don't have to leave any at home to collect dust. It also serves as a stress relief.
