They suspended fuel cell usage for alliance wars. You mean they're suspending it for the event as well?

Doesnt make sense for them to suspend fuel cells for the event. Thats their major cash cow right there

 

I'm not saying that the 4* characters should be easy to get. They should totally be super-rare and having one or two should be special.

But if I dump $60 on the game, I'm sorry, but I expect to get 2, 3, maybe even 4 3* characters. That's a decent chunk of money to dump on a freemium game and I expect to get something of value for being willing to pay them actual money.

What I actually got from that was a bunch of 2* dupes (I already had every 2* character). The dupes pushed me up to being able to have enough 3* shards to get a 3* crystal. I opened that and got a duplicate of one of the two 3* characters I already had. I was livid. I felt cheated.

It's literally so difficult to get 3* and 4* characters in that game that every time they added new characters, my attitude was always, "so what? I'll never get them anyway."

I didn't feel like I could get new, interesting and fun characters for free and even spending money felt like a waste. So I walked away.

I'd much rather have an effort vs. reward paradigm that allows me to get lots of things but then makes me want the next through power creep. It makes the game always feel different and evolving. Just locking me out of getting new stuff most of the time made the game feel stale and like my efforts didn't reward me in the ways that I wanted them to. So now I'm an ex-player.

 

Anybody got last minute slots they're trying to fill before the event starts?

I managed to recruit 4 guys who can contribute about 40k points this event by posting on facebook.

I still have two more slots in my Alliance. PM me if you can contribute at least 4000 pts this weekend and your base doesn't suck.

We will definitely be getting that 4* crystal this weekend. We got 144k last weekend. With the new additions, 160k will be no problem

I know she is a special but is she essentially a gunner?
Is her ability worthwhile and how is the "line across the target determined"?

Just respond with your TFW2005 user name and left us know you're a board member, and also be active. We've been getting a lot of people who just join and do nothing during events and wars.

 

If she's the equivalent of Onslaught then you'll notice that she shoots multiple shots per attack instead of one. It's lower damage per shot but in total it's higher. To me it looks like four shots but damage-wise it's five shots worth. It might seem annoying that the stray shots tend to hit the buildings next to the main target but it's not that bad as the main target tends to get hit at least twice and sometimes the main target isn't even what you want to be shooting at.

The ability is pretty hard to use. Bascially draw an imaginary line from Skyburst to your target. Then draw a perpendicular line to form a "T". The top line of the "T" is where the ability hits. Unless the target is right in front of you it's pretty hard to do high damage. I save my points for my other cons.

As a 3* (or 4*) her stats are naturally higher then 2*. The only 2* gunner I'd slot in my team over Skyburst would be Jazz or someone with Rocket Barrage.

 

Both of her abilities are great for clearing out buildings clustered together. Her regular attacks hit 3-4 buildings at once. Her special works in the same way, hitting the target and anything in next to it. I've found it good for final blows on mortars close together than have been weakened by airstrikes. She's an A squad member for me mostly because she was one of my first 3* and therefore got leveled up quickly.

If anyone can explain a use for huffer's ability, I'd be grateful.

 

I stepped up as Commander for our Alliance since our previous leader was wanting to step down. Today started off really strong with our strongest players cleaning up and working hard. I started playing as soon as I could this morning but I'm a low player myself so I contribute where and when I can. Later this afternoon a number of those players abruptly left. I can understand their frustration. They were towing the weight of the whole team and a number of our people are just sitting back and riding in the wagon as the others pull but getting the same rewards. I noticed our Alliance was set to auto-join so I changed that and removed some 0 medal count individuals. I'll clear out some more dead weight tonight if I see some not actively participating. Basically, I'm starting the group from scratch despite not being able to change the name. If anyone is wanting to join and is an active player send a request to join the group. We are still making changes and want to become the best group we can become. Our Alliance name is Planet Lazytron.

 

Thanks a lot for the reply guys. That helps a lot. The T thing could be hard to line up at times. I'll level her up a bit and see how we get on.

 

My alliance is doing 3400 pts per hr now. We're at 47k points as of now. Should be able to hit 160k in a day
