Perhaps it was seeing the flowers. Flowers stretching beyond the horizon in every direction, representing all the people you've killed, directly or indirectly. Surely that would give someone pause. In my eyes, that is the moment that got under his skin. Or metal, whatever.

But I agree with some of the others who think the cowardly act is a ruse. Megatron has changed, but I doubt he's a coward now.

    Agreed.

I thoroughly enjoyed that preview of Titans Return. The artwork is good (though I like Milne's style for MTMTE better), and I liked the setup. Can't wait to read it!

That MTMTE preview was a huge letdown. Overlord leaving in 2 panels, The army suddenly withdrawing, massive cop out. I hope atleast there'llbe a good final confrontation for Megatron and Tarn with 16 pages left.

Livio's art for Titan's Return looks much better than his previous works. ExRiD #55 looks great, Arcee/Cosmos vs. Galvatron, I'm excited.

I demand to know what sort of nibbles Megatron brought. How did he even get ahold of nibbles in deep space? How dare such vital information be kept from us!

Is it just me or is a bunch of Autobots inviting Megatron to a movie night, then showing a (possibly biased) documentary about the early days of the war kind of a dick move?

Comics Alliance had a sit down with IDW about where the comic will be going for Season 3. Besides, with his role through this season and empathic sense of duty, chances are he'll show up.

Where did they reveal that? The only mention of the character during the Comics Alliance interview was that he had joined the LL crew prior to the mutiny. Because he had. Nothing about him joining up with Megatron and Rodimus.

I'm convinced Megatron has a plan one way or another; either he'll try talking sense into Tarn again or he'll go gladiator on them. Either way, I just don't think he's cowering.

Eeeesh, I don't think there was a single fan prediction for MTMTE that was less interesting than what's actually happening. Deathsaurus leaves not out of a genuine change of heart, but because of a psychic weapon? Overlord bails too? His reasoning makes sense for the character, but then why was he brought back at all? Everything just feels so protracted and slow. Roberts seems to be using too many "and thens" when he should be using "therefores" and "buts."

^This. Who's to think that the guilt weapon has more than one purpose? More than likely that it didn't warp his mind, but instead brought everything else that Tarn did up front to speed up his decision making.

Also I do think Megatron is gonna get the drop on Tarn by faking cowardice as Overlord stops having fun and leaves. Megatron's a tactical genius first before rushing into the fight. I realized that now after my previous posts because Overlord has been beefed up by the Phase-6 program years ago, and I think Megatron knows that Shockwave deactivated that shut-down function back in LSTOW.

    Yeah it's a shame that
Deathsaurus had to come to a conclusion this way. He's been on the fence the whole time but I just wanted to see him finally put his foot down. Well on the plus side he's alive to fight for another day. Hopefully he'll get that match with Star Saber someday.

I want to believe this is the case. If so then that's really brilliant.

Megatron may be struggling to sustain the panic bubble. He doesn't actually have trailcutter's outlier ability.

Plus his insides are all wonky or whatever

Edit- just looked over it again he is cradling his damaged cannon, which iirc was laying on the ground last issue, so maybe Megs is going to detonate it in Tarn's face or something (dramatically blowing off his mask in the process)

The panic bubble isn't connected to outlier powers, it was made by Brainstorm for when Tailcutter wouldn't be able to use his normal shield.

I don't think Overlord is calling Megatron a coward because Megatron looks like he's crying on the floor on that one panel (and that interpretation is subject to how much you want to drum-up the "Megatron is a Wuss" claptrap), it's because he's hiding in the panic bubble at all.

Just to show where he is and what he is doing. Plus to provide a sense of urgency and threat to the Autobots plight. But its not his story. Not like it was back in LSOTW and earlier in MTMTE.

Why include the psychic weapon at all? It only serves to make his turn seem less genuine. Was this just because showing Megatron blowing up an army required Deathsaurus to order an attack one moment, then order a retreat the next? If so, I'd much rather just not get yet another shitty scene of the main cast effortlessly slaughtering their enemies. Instead, there should've been a scene of Megatron momentarily overpowering the DJD, before being beaten down.

OK, if all this cowering was some elaborate ruse to trick Overlord into leaving, then that would actually be really, really amazing. Also, it would kinda be ironic that he pulls off a deception so great after renouncing Decepticonism.

What point does showing where he is serve? As far as anyone knew, he was dead. If this isn't his story, as you say, then why have hm appear just to change everyone's beliefs? Why was he needed to add to the sense of urgency? I think the DJD, who slaughtered the LL II, and an entire army, were enough. Overload is overkill (and not the characters). The only explanation I can think for his appearance is that it's an attempt to bait readers into reading past this story. Bait I'm not taking.

While I'll save judgement until the full issue, Overlord's actions feel odd. I understand that he should be disappointed at seeing a "weak" Megatron, but I felt his insane devotion/complex should not be able to be satisfied as quickly. I could see Overlord beating the pulp out of Megatron's long-dead corpse and still talking to it in vain trying to get his approval - he appeared to be that far gone.

But as I said, I'll reserve full judgment until I read the full thing.

Is IDW insuating Statscream lied about Metrotitan? Is he not the Chosen One?
