1. Seeing as how ridiculously expensive G1 Liokaiser is, I'm perfectly content with this one.
2. I'm really digging the Lione homage.
3. Megs, despite the unpainted dull-gray plastic, still looks glorious. He'll make a damn fine Blitzwing too.
4. Alpha Trion is brilliant. Would love a Vector Prime redeco!
5. I see a red truck and I want it painted black.
6. Everything else is amazing!

Okay, that would make no sense. That would rob us of about one third of the characters we have gotten since those molds would only be used for characters that allready have about a dozen toys. No thanks, I rather see those molds used for characters who have "deserved" them by being patient  

 

The "Generations" panel this year was entirely devoted to the CW web series, so the reveals from the breakfast event were the only new toys on show.

 

Megatron has gotten his own mold numerous times in the past. Clearly Megatron and Sentinel Prime were designed as Blitzwing and Astrotrain first, and the Voyager Optimus Prime is likely to have been designed as Octane, although we have yet to see his vehicle modes. Molds require to be repainted, sometimes more so than a character is known for sharing the mold with. Who is the obvious choice then for repaints of Astrotrain and Blitzwing? None come to mind. Sure there have been repaints in the past like Overcharge and Astrotrain's cartoon colors, Hasbro toy colors and Takara toy colors. Sure G1 Sentinel Prime is an obscure character but his obscurity lends itself to allow him to be repainted from any toy. It didn't have to be Astrotrain but that's what Hasbro went with. As for why they went with G1 Sentinel Prime, they wanted to have a new Prime that isn't Rodimus for story reasons, perhaps? I'm not complaining he finally gets a toy.

 

Well, I think I can say we need to wait one week (Cybertron Con) to see the rest of the wave 3 with Optimus Prime (voyager), Sixshot (leader), Overlord (leader), Hot Rod (deluxe), Doublecross (deluxe), Triggerhappy (deluxe) and Getaway (deluxe)

 

I like the "Not-Blitzwing" Megatron, though I wish they had designed the arm wheels and treads to fold and fill-in his arms. Looking at his left arm, it looks like something Hasbro skipped to save money.

Didn't really see anything else that impressed me. Oh well.

 

But what about wave 4?

They'll need to announce that before toy fair in February. So when does everyone think we'll see those?

 

They can reveal the wave 4 at New York Comic Con in october

 

I guess that makes sense. I just expected a little more content at SDCC.  

 

Probably not Overlord yet, I'd expect him at NYCC.... Maybe Delta Magnus?

 

Did anybody get a look at the back of the other boxes besides megatron?

 

I'm kinda underwhelmed with showings this SDCC. I dig that megatron, but is it too soon for another blitzwing? Not sure how I will fit this in my collection....maybe as megaplex? But that role is currently my classics voyager megs. Liokaiser does look nice though.

 

Just my two cents, but seeing as how Megaplex transforms into a fighter jet, I'd say Titans Return Megs would make a better stand-in.

 

I'm hoping reprolabels makes some stickers that make this figure look more like Megaplex. I love that head sculpt, though.

 

No MP reveals outside of the already known Bumblebee? I was hoping they woul confirm another seeker for this Fall...

 

Is never even thought of that angle just that I am trying to figure out how to keep All megs in my collection head Canon wise. Maybe I will put an autobrand on TR megatron and have him be autobot megatron.

 

I can see Takara actually doing this since they already got their Legends Leader Megatron done a while back. And we'll likely also see Black Convoy done from TR G2 Optimus in the same line as well.

 

No. The other one had serious design design QC issues. For a voyager he had he had two different 3P fixit kits of him. Plus people wanted a more IDW-ish Megatron.

Well, I would prefer a new mold rather than a repaint, but definetely your theory could be true
My only hope is they want save TR Delta Magnus because MP Delta Magnus will be released in august
