Haven't read spoilers. But couldn't they do a better title for Optimus? It's about as bad as "Transformers: Prime", or well, even RID and MTMTE. Get an original title!

Wheeljack shows up a bit in RiD, and as for whether he is alive or dead...

He is ALMOST killed in RiD and spends a large amount of time in recovery. He is still alive and on Cybertron so I imagine he will show up occasionally in TAAO/Windblade.

about the almost death. As for showing up in Windblade? I admit I haven't read it, and I really don't care about a character-specific ongoing series (in terms of Transformers that aren't Wheeljack or Six Shot [can't wait for the new leader class figure!]) so even if he is in it, I can't force myself to read something about a character I have little to no knowledge of in the hopes my favorite TF cameos in the issue. I can barely tolerate doing that for RiD, at least that has Prowl, Ironhide, Soundwave, Starscream, Jazz, etc. I suppose if Windblade is also turning into more of an ensemble thing I might get into it, but I really like what Barber was doing with him (at least in the stuff I read).

 

Glad Alex (who still needs to learn to sacrifice surface details for clarity, but regardless of that has become one of the top tier TF artists) is still around... but it's extremely weird and unprofessional that he had to find out the news that he's not working on issue one second hand. That's rough and can't feel great on an artist's ego.

 

Glad to hear that we won't have to wait long for more action with the Scavengers!

I am not going to set any prejudices or bias. It will happen anyway. I wonder how Rodimus got purple. I hope the Scavengers will be still in the new universe.

 

Cant seem to find the Unicron thing, but i think its a bad idea unless he stays behind the scenes for a long long time and eventually after a long long long long long time gets to eat the IDW verse, cause it'll be major anticlimax if its a batlle against Unicron again.
Yeaay for the Scavengers, the more Scavenger centric stories we get the better.
Good new name for mtmte but exRID should have become Cybertron or something, OP feels to specific.

 

Why rename MTMTE? Are they trying to make things more confusing or something?

 

The expanded IDW-verse is the IDW Transformers universe, so no one's going anywhere, including the Scavengers.

Confusing in what way? If anything it's less confusing that it has a new subtitle what with it being renumbered as well.
And it's less of a mouthful "Hey, did you get Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye Volume 2 #1 in last week?"

The answer to that is simple.

Don't renumber it. That just makes things confusing too. Why not just continue instead of randomly resetting the issue number for seemingly no reason?

 

Because putting out a new #1 will make more money.

 

OK, but how is it confusing? The only people that might actually be confused is someone who's, like, drifted away from comics for a while and decided to come back post-relaunch. I get being a bit annoyed but it's still the same comic at the end of the day. It means nothing.
Comic books do this all the time anyway:

1. Do big crossover "event"
2. Post-event, relaunch all series involved with new issue #1's/maybe new titles that otherwise carry on where they left off before big crossover
3. ???
4. PROFIT

It might be a bit annoying but, well, not much point getting angry about it.

And this. #1's always generate more sales and interest.

 

They said that the Lost Light book will have elements from the movies right? If so then I'm very curious to see what they'll have in there and it's very fitting if they also take elements from the Last Knight since that's very much focused on Knights and the goal in the MTMTE comics ia fter all finding the Knights of Cybertron.

 

All that's been said about movies is that Roberts has some "movie-inspired stories" that he's had on the backburner for a while now when asked about doing stories with different genres in LL. And he doesn't say that any of the movies are Transformers ones.

Also, what's up with the front page article not mentioning the Optimus book at all?

 

Lost Light is a legit great name replacement for MTMTE.

I do wonder what the deal is with Rodimus's new deco and why he's got it.

So Barber's Ongoing is now going to be Optimus Prime.....ugh. Give me a break.

Glad Alex Milne isn't getting sacked.

 

For those moaning about Optimus being one of the thirteen, I've said this before but the seeds for that were sown back in autocracy when Orion pax got the matrix from metroplex. Seriously reread the dialogue from metroplex at that part. Wether you like that book or not autocracy is canon
