This guy is SO GOOD in hand. So much detail is present (which I love) and he is fricking fun.

Also, all arguments that there is a design budget are completely blown out of the water by Sentinel Prime's superflous spring loaded neck guards, and pivoting chest piece. Can anyone tell me why these features were necessary?

Can't wait to this guy. Already got a decent Astrotrain way back in the original classics, so I'm very happy we got a viable retool out of the new one. Now I can have both Astrotrain and a new Prime (finally!) and still have them as different molds.

What I like is that he represents a Galactic shuttle. Something that wouldn't require Mass Shifting to support a team of Decepticons. When you think about how big Astrotrain needed to be for his transport scene in Transformers the movie it blows the mind. I am guessing 10x larger than a real life Shuttle.

Are there any Titanmaster foot pegs on Sentiel Prime? I don't see any, but maybe I missed something when I looked at him this morning.

The Orange with subtle uses of red yellow and grey is gorgeous.

wow, that improves the shuttle look immensely ~ what paint pens do you use?
shame it's so sloppy, that is a FAR more convincing 3rd mode then the official one IMHO.

That actually looks better. Just goes to show that sometimes Sharpies are a fan's best friend.

Eric is right, I used a gold sharpie, they are nice for quick and dirty accents

Does anyone else transform him with the feet flipped? I'm talking about the "train" pieces rotated to the front and the "banana shoes" to the back. I think he looks many times better with the feet flipped. No real stability issues, either. At work, so I can't post a pic.

Got this guy a few days ago, haven't had the chance to Transform him yet. That being said, what a great looking Transformer. Really stands out, and really says Prime.

Someone's video review (Peaugh? Emgo?) tried doing that and the figure wouldn't stand at all. It may be a case by case tolerances issue.

Can't see how that argument works, since even as Astrotrain the mold is still not big enough to function as a transport for decepticons, unless it's headmasters/minicons only and even then is on the small size.

A figure would have to be as big as Metroplex/FortMax to function as a transport without mass shifting.

And even looking at it straight from a design standpoint, Classics Astrotrain did not turn into a standard earth shuttle, he was more futuristic looking.

You want to nitpick that's fine. You can buy whatever figures for whatever reason you want to. But for the sake of an actual discussion, it would be nice if you were at least honest enough to admit that you just really like Astrotrain and just want a bigger figure of him, instead of twisting your reasoning to infer that nobody should want to buy Sentinel Prime knowing that he will be turned into Astrotrain.

I love this guy a lot more than I thought. I like how his colors and the Shuttle mode seems like a version of the ARK, and train mode is nice. I ACTUALLY like keeping the SHUTTLE FEET out in TRAIN MODE (looks more futuristic) and the TRAIN FEET out in SHUTTLE MODE (looks more classic scifi spaceship even warhammerish).

His point isn't that it's in-scale to be that big, but it's a design that looks like it is. Like you could pair it up with an SDF-1 or something.

Ok, here is what I meant with the feet.... I think he looks SO much better with the train parts as his feet than the banana shuttle parts. Stability is more or less the same. I think the "collar" parts on the side of his head really make this figure. When I first saw him I had NO intentions of buying him but when I saw him in person...that ORANGE!!!! I loved it!

I just posted a pic and honestly, I cannot see how he would NOT stand like this? Now...notice that I don't have the front leg panels snapped into place, but he still stands just great and it works very well.

I think you missed my point, and went off on a long rant for nothing. I wasn't even talking about Classics Astrotrain. Just the G1 toy in general. That toy represented a human sized Space Shuttle, and all I was saying was that to accommodate the deceptions it had to mass shift into a much larger Giant Robot sized Space Shuttle. Sentinel Prime seems to be a much larger space vehicle by default (think Ark), so I think he is a better fit as a Transport (albeit for the Autobots).

The orange, and the incredible detail. This whole line has so much great detail on all of the figures.

Yeah, it's a shame they don't have a way to (or just don't?) panel line these figures. So much detail goes unnoticed at first glance. This is very evident when we see the gray prototypes....I can't remember how many figures looked AWESOME when the prototypes were shown, then the coloring more or less ruined the detail of the mold.

What he needs is more silver highlights to make some of him pop and give a break on the eyes from the orange. But thats what silver sharpies are for! I plan on coloring his cannon barrels fold down wheels and ladders and some other things to show some of that added detail and break up the orange.

With train feet is better, shuttle ones are too long.Glad to see this,a lot of videos don't show them stable.

So,in your opinion if I place his back on a wall with train feet, unless that these ones are defective, there is absolutely no chance that he could slide/ fall (despite Youtube reviews)am I correct?
Sorry for question but I'm very curious,I still wait to receive my bot
