How does everyone clamoring for a two bot torso not realize how horrible those two deluxes would be, due to needing to make sacrifices to include the combiner ports in them?

Things I find interesting in the newer picture:

    * Hard to tell exactly, but there appears to be a new combiner face for Liokaiser, but the cat head helmet is untouched. More or less works for the design. I kinda wonder if anyone's tried disassembling Sky Lynx's head to see how things go together there.

    * I think this is the first Hasbro combiner release with differing color Hand-foot-guns., black hands and silver-gray feet (or one silver, one gray?)

    * There appears to be four double-barrel cannon parts, which is twice as many as there are included jet molds.

    * Looks like the Arms Micron weapon is Gul, the birdy-thing. I don't see any others, though there might be a detail or two in the picture that could indicate a hidden one.

    * I don't know about new heads for the individual bots. If I were to guess, they will probably use the 'seeker' and 'conehead' heads for the two jets, as they have never been used in a Hasbro retail release yet (and is probably a reason Skydive and Air Raid were picked and not Fireflight/Slingshot). I have no idea about the tanks, but after CW Nosecone it would be quite disappointing to get two Brawls both with Brawl heads.

    * I have no doubt Takara will go further with this set than Hasbro (assuming they tackle it at all), as Japan has a stronger connection to this character/team than western audiences. I can already think of a handful of obvious changes for a more accurate design that Tomykara will probably do. I'm not as sure they will go so far as to remake the Deathsauralynx torso into two guys, as they are also happy enough to make up new narratives to fit some outside idea like Grand Galvatron or whatever the Victorion bunch is going to be, and working up a new Liokaiser that replaces two breast-force members with the breast-force leader is not THAT out there. I'm kinda hoping Takara does a mega-set which takes the 'extra mix & match' limbs approach, with Leozack (Air Raid), Jalguar (Swindle), and maybe a copter Deathcobra, with a heaping sugar scoop of arms microns tossed in for good measure. :)

Since no one has a clue as to how they're going to engineer them, much less if they're even doing it... can't really picture how well Takara might or might not pull it off.

I wont mind a Silverbolt-based Leozack with a Legends Class Jallguar. That, unique heads for the entire set, and retooled Brawl alt modes for the shin bots is good enough for me.

Are you talking about Sky Lynx's sword-guns that are up on the shoulders in this image?

Hasbro would never do it because Deszaras/Leozack is too obscure a character to remold Alpha Trion when you have a litany of b/c-list characters like Vector Prime or Leo Convoy. Lynxmaster -> Leozack/Deszaras likely only happened because they were scrapping the bottom of the barrel trying to find an alternative combiner to justify Sky-Lynx/Lynxmaster.

Ok for all those saying 'Takara save me!' and 'Tfc is better'

Hasbro has a limited budget. Also unlike 3p they can't sell a $500 product and have it be profitable for them.

Takara may give you your 100% accurate Liokaiser but just be grateful this is happening!

    Um, no.

If Takara is going to give me what I want, and Hasbro won't, then I'll buy accordingly. Hasbro has their reasons (many of them legitimate) for doing Liokaiser this way, but the legitimacy of those reasons does not mean that I cannot 1.) dislike it, 2.) find something better and 3.) talk about how the better version is better. I don't need to be grateful to a multi-million dollar corporation for doing something I found to be subpar.

CW Devastator handled that pretty well. The two bots that formed him could have been even better if they weren't designed that way to keep the costs down. The ports aren't visible really until you flip them out for combination.

There's also no reason to expect the two torso bots will be limited by the Scramble City design of the limbs since they will only be serving to form the torso and waist parts when combined.

With Bruticus out, Computron coming soon and Lynx Master shown, Takara needs to get their Decepticon version of Victorion finally revealed so we can move on to UW Liokaiser :ev:

    Wait, what?

How do these two look anything alike?

Sure, I can see some incredibly vague similarities, but nowhere close to a "100% match."

Should not be an issue as the combiner ports do not take up as much space as the combiner pegs. The ports are fixed whereas the pegs will need to have space allowance for them to be rotated.

From the pic, instead of a legends figure, seems that Hasbro's Liokaiser has a arms micron and extra weapons. Both Skydive's and Air Raid's weapons are pegged to Brawl and Nosecone, the right fist seems to have 2 grey cannons.

I have to agree and not to mention both Alpha Trion's and Deathsaurus's beast modes are WAY too different from each other to retool as well. I mean people may gripe about using the CW Sky Lynx mold for Deathsaurus but at least it has a better chance at capturing the beast mode there. So yeah unless Hasbro surprises us with huge amounts of retooling from the Alpha Trion mold into Deathsaurus I don't see that happening at all.

I wouldn't complain too much if TT Leokaiser had a teal Silverbolt for Leozak, then included Black Swindle and Green Alpha Bravo as alternate limbs.

Where'd you hear that? It sounds highly unlikely, since they design the molds at the start of the line rather than two new ones every few months as new waves come out.

What's the deal with different colored hands and feet? First UW Bruticus and now CW Liokaiser?

    Anime accuracy?

Bruticus was definitely due to that. I can't speak for Liokaiser, however, as I've never seen any of the cartoons he made an appearance in. (Perhaps someone who's well versed in this stuff could help?)

Or it could just be Hasbro doing something random.

It's really puzzling as how the colors thrown on the toy torso aren't even trying to match his actual appearance.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vbEplajTPiw

I realize the torso isn't Leozack but it's not even a passable attempt to mimic it. Where the hell did that black combiner head come from? 2-for-1 discount with Bruticus?

After watching that clip, random is what I'm going with. The set has serious issues.
