I never said that. I said only fan-characters can be a Mary Sue, I didn't say all fan-characters are a Mary Sue.

Yes, because why would Hasbro care about the personal preference and opinions of a 'fan-built Combiner' from... you know... the fans? Or perhaps the widespread complaints about Victorion's design just sailed over your head.  

 

Her voice is way too light and young sounding.

I imagined a far deeper voice, kind of similar to Estelle's Garnet from Steven Universe.

 

I literally cannot imagine her with any voice but that one.

 

They should have had Peter Cullen do an intro before victorion started speaking. Victorion form blazing sword!

She should have said "My name is Victorion and I have come here to save the galaxy and chew bubblegum. And I'm all out of bubblegum."

What animation?

 

She probably is one, but I have a hard time taking over the top personalities seriously. I'm also taking it through the lenses that she is an Autobot, which makes it somewhat less scary as well.

 

LOVING that voice for her. And I'm glad it wasn't just me who got the Voltron vibe(doesn't helped that I just binged watched the new Netflix series)

I'm surprised people are enjoying this short more than the last one because not a lot happenes in it. It's just Victorian standing in front of an 80's background monologuing for two minutes before jetting off to save the galaxy. It's cool, don't get me wrong, but at least the Optimus short had some(hilarious) action and some interesting locations to look at.

 

They did this one in a way where the lack of animation fits the material. Plus, our expectations were suitably lowered by the first short.

 

Vicky is coming across as a Mary Sue hard. I know people think she's written this way as a negative aspect of her character, but I don't think we have any reason to believe that.

 

I also got the Voltron vibe after watching this and Victorion's voice sounds alright.

 

i had to watch to see if her voice was the same as in my head....it was......i'm so happy about that........

 

Much better presentation then the Optimus video. Very nice homage of Voltron they had there too.  

Also the post someone made about Victorion's personality being similar to IDW Star Saber could be on to something. She does sound like someone who despite having good intentions will go about setting things right the wrong way and eventually she'll come to her senses.

 

How, exactly? If the short had been about, I dunno, Optimus Prime gushing about how great Victorion is, then sure, maybe, but Victorion having a high opinion of herself doesn't make her a Mary Sue.

 

It was much better than the Prime one, the story did sound like Voltron, and the voice reminded me of "V'ger" from Star Trek: The Motion Picture.

I don't think the intention was for her to sound that way. I got the impression that the writer thought she was "epic"(re: TF: Prime's definition) and wanted to hype us up by portraying her as Robo-Jesusette.
