Hello all. Just had a quick question. I used to read X-men and Uncanny X-men when I were a lad and loved them. Haven't read the X-books in about a decade and wanted to get back into them. I wonder if any one can tell me which are the main X-Men books at the moment that I can follow the main story line. I am looking to read about two a month. Many thanks.
There are three right now: Extraordinary X-Men is the main title. It features a team led by Storm that's dealing with the fallout from Marvel's latest anti-Fox Studios editorial bullshit. All-New X-Men is the continuing adventures of 4/5ths of the original team, brought forward in time from the 1960s (Jean is in Extraordinary). Uncanny X-Men is basically the current X-Force book and is about Magneto and Psylocke leading a team to confront threats to mutant survival. I'd say it's the least essential of the three, if I had to pick.
If you want to read two, read Extraordinary and Uncanny and start from #1 of each. All-New X-Men you can skip, it requires the most backstory of the three and the book assumes you know the story behind the team. Extraordinary and Uncanny are more welcoming to new readers.
Cheers mate! Think I will pick up all 3 each month. I do like me a bit of Psylocke so will be getting that as well. Much appreciated. Tom
