How long ago was this? I was waiting to get my second one and saw that the agabyss place had it still for 158 which was 2 days ago as well as watching 3 on Ebay from a Taiwanese seller which had it for 167. Checked back today they were sold out and the Taiwan sellers shot it up to 180 so I went ahead and bought it there before another initial increase or it selling out.

Wait, this is actually selling out? I wasn't paying attention to stock because I was assuming not many people wanted to buy this and I was waiting for a sale. Oops LOL

 

I bought one from an online retailer a week ago and haven't gotten any kind of acknowledgement or shipping notice...and now they're sold out. Not confidence inspiring.

 

Yeah that was my mistake as well.

 

Seems like there were a bunch of us hoping for that as well. I was 2 weeks away from getting some cash to blow on toys and now it seems to be more money than it's worth. Do the retailers like bbts ever get restocks on these; or does Takara ever re-up production?

I just bought it from them a couple of days ago for $159.99 shipped but now I can see it went up to $179.99. Still better than Ebay I suppose.

 

Almost the same actually but dang, love how companies take advantage of that...

 

I think my seller was GadgeToys - it was $165 free shipping (if I hadn't waited I'd seen a couple for $148 free shipping the weekend before)

 

Dang these are getting hard to find for under 180. Seems like it came out, no one really cared, now its gone and people are panicking and buying them for inflated prices.
In the experience of long time collectors, is this the kind of thing that comes around again, or is the stock really all gone and it will just keep climbing in price?

 

Mine arrived yesterday.

It'll take me forever to open, but it's here at least.  

 

It was a TakaraTomy online exclusive; those things don't tend to last very long due to the limited production run for such things (Japan's market for exclusives is rather small compared to a mass market release so it's equivalent of over here being a limited run piece). That is just one of those things you have to watch for when deciding if you want a limited-run figure.

Japan's Sky Reign (Lynx Master) is looking to be in a similar situation, but in this case I believe that comes down to how much you want CW Ratchet as opposed to how much you want a crazy multiversal zombie combiner (and lets face it, that's a stroke of genius to give us a few dead guys and an IDW comic character who otherwise would have no business being in this line).

At least with Sky Reign they didnt add as much cool new stuff so I wont feel bad if I miss out on him.

 

Yeah Grand Galvatron at least gave us all new characters, while Sky Reign it's just Ratchet and Sky Lynx if you're having a hard time getting him.
