I see why that would be bad, but shared universes aren't structured in a way where you often get tuna and peanut butter in the same "bite." Batman and Superman first met 75 years ago, but I could count on my fingers the number of Batman comics I've read where Superman shows up. Even Robin barely appears in Batman comics that aren't explicitly called"Batman and Robin."

Armada was good toward the end.. Energon was good at the beginning.

Basically I thought it was a good watch from the time Starscream defects in Armada until Megatron reformats Demolishor in Energon..

So I was thinking about Visionaries. Maybe they're not included because they're on a different planet and the "no technology" thing wouldn't mesh with, say, giant sentient robots? They could still make a Visionaries comic and tie it in later.. Heck, MTMTE could cross over with it..

Someone should tell IDW that, since they keep referring to it having 'seasons.' :lol

And I totally get that, but to me it would be like putting Star Trek and Star Wars together, yeah that's a good example.

Now those two definitely couldn't coexist in the same universe; their settings are simultaneously too similar and too different. But I'm gonna let you in on a secret. Only one of the Transformers books is on Earth. There is absolutely zero overlap between what GI Joe and MtMtE do, and where they do it. The Micronauts might be in space, but last I checked space was pretty big.

The Micronauts aren't just in space, they're in the space of a microscopic universe. Really not much room for overlap with MTMTE unless the LL uses their shrink ray to travel to Microspace.

If it comes to that, I'll just...umm..."acquire" those issues in ways I'd prefer not to since I understand writers/artists/etc gotta pay bills too. If they try to drive sales by splicing the story I do want into titles I was never going to buy, I won't be sorry for the failed attempt at picking my pockets.

But on that same token, I'm not made out of money either. I can only afford so much, then something has to give. I already cut expenses by sacrificing the collector in me and stopping that insane cover A/cover B bullshit at the issue 50's. I shudder to think how much reading that $$$ could have funded in the future had I forced that discipline sooner.

Something silly but I think I figured out why this is called Revolution. There's a song called The Revolution Will Not Be Televised and most of these Hasbro properties had shows except for Micronauts and ROM. It's kind of clever in it's own way.

Only one of three books is still a huge impact, especially when it's the main book. Also each franchise is going to have to take a knee of sorts to the other; Transformers characters will have to be physically weakened or GI Joe is going to have to be put on steroids thus weakening each of the sauces.

Just heard this news. I guess that Hasbro Cinematic Universe is really working out behind the scenes. Mind you I just got back into reading IDW TF comics so I pray I'll try and keep track.

Why? Are they going to be shooting each other on a regular basis?

No, but I always felt it was ridiculous when a human takes out a Transformer with a sword. Even when Spike took out Scrapper in universe it was so insanely improbable. The alternative is to give GI Joe Mech Suits and the like, but I imagine that would just turn Joe into the EDC which corrodes the GI Joe mythology making it lose its identity. Ialternatuvely is to weaken the Transformers making them more at the level of Joes, but I really don't want to see more of Spike taking on Autobots..

Giannis Milonogiannis, who's doing the art for the G.I. Joe tie-in, has posted some art previews on twitter.

I always felt it was ridiculous when a Transformers takes out a Transformer with a sword. But i think its ridiculous when a human takes out a Transformers in pretty much any way.
I could stomach ROM, MASK and Micronauts but i really don't want another GI Joe vs The Transformers.

Totally agree. Even MASK if based on Cybertronian technology I'll stomach, but Joe has got to go :) .

How? Optimus is literally taking over earth with controlled force and using a hearts and mind strategy at this point in the IDW universe, how is Joe not going to get involved. Instead how about just put them in separate universes.

Because All Hail Optimus takes place before the Revolution. Absolutely nothing has suggested that they're going to fight one another. It wouldn't make sense for either book, especially a Joe book that will only just have started. There's already a GI Joe vs the Transformers book.

Actually, it really looks like the start of Revolution is going to have the Joes and Optimus's forces clash (along with pretty much everyone else), with this cover, plus the quote from this interview:

Barber and Bunn also talk about fights between a bunch of the various factions in this story, and the above quote plus other stuff pretty much confirm that Optimus's annexing of Earth is continuing even after All Hail Optimus. That said, I really doubt the Joes are going to continue being an adversary for the Autobots after this crossover.
