Megatron or not, that face looks badass.

 

Now all we need to confuse us EVEN MORE is if they had a Promo Image of Galvatron, with a caption saying (Galvatron will return).

 

That looks ugly.

 

I'm sure I'm off base, but mammoth tusks and a vertical slit for a mouth (a la ROTF's The Fallen) do not make for a badass-looking face to me.

I look forward to watching Megatron die and then be resurrected in 5, 6 and 7.

The "tusks" are the two triangles on the sides. It's got the bit in the middle, and the four diagonal lines on the head. It's heavily stylized, but it's pretty blatant.

I mean, at least 3 non-Transformers websites I've read have already been reporting it, but still.

What if its actually megatronus returning? Its kind of a stretch but it could be possible. Also if you look at his head design its shares a very close resemblance to the fallen. If this image is galvatron returning to megatron, ill be pretty disapointed.

 

i think when they mean "megatron is back" that they are referring to his mentality. as he even said in AOE "we shall meet again prime, for i am reborn", he clearly knows that he is back. wether he takes the name the humans gave him or not. he knows who he still is.

 

I dont like it. Even for a movie design this just looks... dull.

 

I am surprise he will have his original name again and not Galvatron.

 

Basically this whole thread:

Bay and Hasbro: "This is Megatron!"

Hey, maybe it's a flashback Megatron, like some people are guessing. That's my hope, but it's doubtful. Design looks cool either way. Tusks will make for great jokes, like Starscream's Dorito body.

I'm actually pretty excited for this movie, and I didn't really expect to be. I really liked the first TF movie, but after that it was all down hill. I mostly blame Kruger for the direction the movie franchise has taken, I wouldn't pay that guy to write the back of a cereal box. I'm interested to see the fruits of the writers room, and even though Robert Kirkman had to leave. He did say that Transformers fans were in for some awesome stuff! Kirkman's a great writer, and I trust his judgement. So, I'm going to remain cautiously optimistic!

I'm going to make a guess that this movie is probably going to retcon a bunch of stuff. I'd like them to explain why Prime has been so vengeful/violent. Maybe something along the lines of combining with Jetfire corrupted him. I also hope they bring back Starscream, Ironhide, Ratchet, etc. Have some Quintessons who are good, and some who are evil, and let them rebuild those guys!

I'm also really glad they're seemingly bringing Megatron back. I'm going to guess that, that picture has him with his battle-mask on. Hopefully they'll go back to the original concept they had for Megatron, and he will have a Cybertronian alt-mode. I liked the idea that he wouldn't take an Earth form because it was beneath him. I'm not sure what happened to Galvatron, and I honestly don't really care. All Hail Megatron!

Oh, and I really hope the way Galvatron/Stinger transformed in AOE is gone, that was really lame!

So many possibilities on the why/how... Will be fun to speculate  

 

I've been tolerant of these movies, but what I'm seeing so far is the final straw.... Megatron looks like he has a helmet on, the logo has a big broad sword... Bay is turning this into something that is not Transformers anymore.

It is now robotic Conan the Barbarian.

Bay has abandoned the history of where this IP has come from and is making whatever's he wants now. It's sad to see.

 

I love his design, im not sure if its megs, but who ever it is, I LOVE IT!!
