On the other hand, it shows that the lack of orange on Runamuck everyone is griping about is 'toon accurate.  

 

I think there's scope for Hasbro to redo both Battlechargers:

Runamuck with a yellow/orange body, upper legs and spoiler and Runabout with the same parts in red.

Different enough to be different and potentially better in both cases

I'd also like to see Blackjack redone as Bumblebee to go with Optimus Prime.

He's still listed on amazon.co.uk (albeit via an affiliate) - it's where I got mine from (and also Runabout and Powerglide). He was a mass retail figure in Japan, so theoretically he should be easy to get..?

What's unique about Runamuck and Runabout is that they don't have that typical 60-40 color distribution. I like that TakaraTomy captured that at least.

What I wouldn't give for Hasbro to release a Battlechargers two-pack....

 

With a little more work I think you could give Runabout Rodimus' orange body too: The shoulders, neck and back hinge are the same colour on both. So all that needs doing is to push/pull out the bar that forms the hinge on both toys, which looks an easy job as you can see both ends of it, swap the back/head/chest assemblies and then pop limbs at ball joints.

I'm sorry, but I've never completely understood this reaction to an exclusive release. Is it the fact it's exclusive? Because I see it as a case of "either these guys do it as an exclusive, or it just never gets made at all". That's usually how some of these exclusives work - they are figures that Hasbro or Takara-Tomy want to do, but cannot find a home for. There's things like Fun Publications, where it is the licensee who makes that call, but again, it's a case of "this isn't something that Hasbro / Takara-Tomy were planning on".

 

So dogfight doesn't have a chest indent? Pretty weird considering it is a rid powerglide with the viper head.

 

So... Who thinks they are going to do the third triggerbot (Backstreet) as a recolor of the rodimus legends mold?

 

I want to get this just to swap out the yellow parts on Hot Rodimus and give them to Runamuck.

for me, its the prices......i never like the fact that a $10 and $15 toy can escalate to over $40 and $90. yes, i get its an exclusive, meaning that one store sells it only, but quadupling the price is just greedy......i can see doubling and, possibly on the character, tripling....but not quadupling or more.....

also, in this case, that runabout and overdrive are more available than there partners.....
