.... yes? Because it could be solved without losing a loyal warrior? And were Overlord not goading, probably would've?

Kaon was out of line, punishment was a given, head ripping was not.

'War' and conquest does not mean taking a violent line on one's own people. Heck, Kaon clearly did not expect even Tarn to react that way, and Tarn is famously way stricter.

I'd be kind of alright with Tailgate because Cyclonus would then unleash his fury. Perhaps beating whoever kills him to a bloody pulp.

You know that's a interesting idea.

Well I, for one, am welcoming the forthcoming prospect of a rematch between Ultra Magnus and the luscious-lipped Overlord. It only took 20 years plus to get some closure on Mags/Galvy from TFUK...

I have to say - I'm really not feeling the Nightbeat part of the plot.

Also - when speculating on character deaths, someone mentioned Perceptor - he's not down there with them, is he?

    Also a fun theory :)

But while I like it I also kinda like what IDW are doing with Primus and the other TF gods. Neither confirming or denying anything.

I don't believe he's still pillaging or cyberforming since he's defected from Megatron's army.

    He is not.

Noxex, I liked your analysis but you forgot to put Ravage within it anywhere. I mean I would have been ok if you had a different opinion than mine (I think Ravage is on the chopping block), but you totally left him out :(

Perceptor is on the lost light. So I'm not sure why he was mentioned.

Anyway, to put in my 2 cents, its Ravage, or if not Ravage its Skids. If its neither of those then I can say that whoever it is will be a surprise to me (And sort of a relief because I don't want it to be super obvious). Cant wait for next month.

My fault! For some reason I included Perceptor instead of Ravage in my original post about the deaths.

Suddenly Megatron with a Fusion Cannon for #50 makes a lot more sense. Now I want him to come back and kill Tarn and Overlord. I don't think both of them have anything better to do than to die for #54.

Ravage is a possibility. Doubt Megatron will die. For one thing, Galvatron is a separate character, NOT Megatron remade. Galvatron in G1 was popular because he was Megaton but stronger and crazier, which opened up to new story ideas to sell. After Transformers #53, Galvatron the Barbarian is gonna die by the end of All Hail Optimus because apparently in the solicitation for #55 Prime does a very, very bad thing that shakes the world. Plus it gives Barber the excuse
    to turn Galvatron/Blackrock into Headmasters.
I'll be amazed if once she declares someone from the group her Conjunx Endura, Nautica becomes the reverse Gwen Stacy and gets them killed. My money's on Brainstorm. If Whirl were to bite it, let it be in blaze of glory. I freely admit that Tailgate will die despite the numerous fake-outs, and Cyclonus will kill a DJD member in a fit of rage. Rung still has his alt mode, and Skids still has the symbols mystery to solve with Nightbeat and Nautica.

I kind of hate to burst people's bubble (really, I'm not that big on destroying fun speculation), but Rung's alt-mode isn't really a key. It's gotten two different depictions and only one of them looks like a key. However, this is a case where form does not follow function (otherwise the Functionists wouldn't have needed to label him as 'ornament').

I also used to think that Rung's alt-mode had something to do with supporting or igniting Hot Spots, and thought the dialogue at the end of 'Elegant Chaos' supported that, but I was wrong.

After a recent re-reading of 'Elegant Chaos', I found out that the function of Rung's alt-mode was revealed in the story. You really have to pay attention to the dialogue, though.

My recent re-reading of 'Elegant Chaos' was in TPB form, so it was fairly quickly, unlike my original read-through. That let me hold details in my head long enough to catch all the dropped clues. I'm certain many other people on here could put it together on their own if they give 'Elegant Chaos' an uninterrupted re-read.

Relevant to the current discussion is: Rung's alt-mode isn't really a key (more of a lock, from a certain point of view). It doesn't have something to do with hot spots, the Hollow Planet, Cybertron, or having any planetary interaction. So, nothing to help out the situation the main cast currently finds themselves in.

I definitely think Skids will bite it, and I actually think Cyclonus and Tailgate might both die. Other than them, Megatron is a possibility, but I think it's unlikely because this arc should be more about him witnessing all of this stuff rather than dying. I'm sure he'll try to pull a heroic sacrifice and be denied (after all, he still doesn't deserve to get off that easy). Everyone else seems to have their hands in further plot intrigue, so they're probably safe.

On the other side, Tarn will most likely die after his identity is revealed, and will either be killed by Skids (for their personal history) or by Deathsauras's Decepticons (because the irony would be lovely). Deathsauras himself (and his crew) will probably survive and make peace with Megatron.

Overlord is definitely the wild card in all of this. I have no idea how he's going to factor in, but I wouldn't be surprised if he makes it out of this arc at the last minute, much like Star Saber (maybe they even go to the same place...?).

Man, I loved this issue. The soap opera stuff is one of the big reasons I picked up MTMTE in the first place.

What kind of tragic Dominus reveal!! Altho I do suspect he's not actually dead, we JUST got the stuff with Spinister and the (presumably non-mnemosurgury) way domesticated transformers can be fixed. I noticed that Rung - who knows about that - was already off with Nightbeat by that point... Also, Prowl totally knew where Dominus was the entire time. While Rewind and Chromedome were meeting in the relinquishment clinic, Dominus and Prowl were probably off putting together the Agent 113 stuff. Geez.

Rewind sure doesn't take well to secrets, does he? Chromedome's mystery sin is gonna be a big reveal when that happens. (I'm guessing whatever he heard from the guilt ray in 50 had to do with that? We've seen what everyone else heard but not him.)

I don't figure Skids' thing has anything to do with Nautica, actually. I think it's the after effects of the Sunder stuff. He just got back the memory of this suuuper traumatic experience and right away has to face the guy who caused it? Would also explain why Rung's concerned. Anyway, Skids is at the top of the death list imo

Surprised there's not more discussion of Megatron's actions. Is this another result of the Fools Energon? Is he just stalling for time? (He talks about wanting more time in 44.) Or does he have something totally different up his sleeve?

    Can't wait for 54.

we assume. It would be an easy task for a writer to have Megatron become Galvatron then send Galvatron back in time to the earliest point in the timeline that Galvatron exists.

That would be a terrible dis-service to both characters, just for the sake of making them more G1.

On Ravage, he looked really exited when Megatron was getting a fusion cannon back (and that must bring back memories- being offered it just like Starscream gave him one long ago). What a heartbreak!

Like, he wasn't thinking that Megatron was fighting for an Autobot cause, but that he was doing so *as Megatron*.

As for who bites it- Nightbeat, finishing a final mystery.

Given how badly action scenes are handled in this series, I'm worried that we'll see like 5 pages of action, and than Megatron moping, Rung and Nightbeat exploring, blah blah blah and then all the sudden in page 17, the battle is lost and some people die. Then in MTMTE 55, Megatron shoots Tarn with his new fusion canon and that's it. Just some talking and exposition and the end.

I hope after the Titans Return issues for MTMTE are over, we'll switch over to the mutineers for a while. I want to see characters like Bluestreak, Mainframe, Getaway, Riptide and more are up to. Then switch later on to the survivors of DOTL. Maybe mid-season, the survivors will reunite with the Lost Light crew.

Megatron, stop being a whimp. Ok?

    This is sad and pathetic.
